Gift Books for College Students: Some Recommendations

We’ve made some earlier recommendations of books that make good reading for parents of college students. But there is also plenty of good reading available for college students — or about to be college students — to help them navigate the college years.  If you’re looking for a gift idea for your college student or high school senior, consider one or two of these books.  Some are light-hearted and written for college students to enjoy, and many are full of helpful hints and tips for successfully transitioning to and surviving college. They cover everything from general advice to cooking, money management and career advice.

  1. A Gift that Lasts All Year! Many people struggle with leadership in classes, activities, and work. Here is a book of 50 entertaining short stories about leadership. Stories about sports, business, politics, music, and everyday life. Famous people and regular people we can all relate to. A fun special section with the frank honesty of 10 year olds and high school students about their own leadership skills, in their own words. But they might be talking about you or me. Hilarious. http://www.YesYouYesNow.com Great gift for teens, college students, and people embarking on their careers, to improve their leadership and communication skills. Book and eBook for Kindle, Sony, Nook, iPhone, and all other phones. Of note to gift givers: People who bought this book also bought Good to Great and 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
