As we think about commuter students, we’re thinking about students who live off campus and not in university housing. Some students are living at their family home and others may be in their own apartment. And we discovered that there are a lot of them.

We wondered whether there are as many commuter students in other countries. If you have had any experience living off campus in a country other than the United States, we’d love to hear about your experiences in the comments. Let us know!

We shared some specific questions to ask during the admission process, how to anticipate and handle some of the shifting dynamics at home, and what students and parents can do to make the experience a positive one.
