As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
• Comfortable in deep water with basic ability to use watercraft like surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
• Pass a lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water without hands for 2 minutes
• Preferably have experience working with or teaching children
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
