As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
• Able to work in deep water and basic skills with watercraft (surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
• Capable of passing lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, tread water without hands for 2 minutes, etc.)
• Previous experience working with or teaching children preferred
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is a plus but not required
• Must be at least 18 years old
