As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water with knowledge of safety precautions
• Comfortable in deep water with basic watercraft skills (surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
• Able to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, 2-minute tread water without hands, etc.)
• Preferred experience working with or teaching children
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years or older
