Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Bob. I have worked as a math and computing tutor for several years. In fact, I began my tutoring in college, and I have taught courses as part of my jobs in many companies. I really love teaching and working with students one-on-one.

A good tutor can guide a student in the right direction and save the student hours of frustration and days searching online. I specialize in computing topics including Web Design, Perl, Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript., and in math topics inclu...

Robert clearly knows his stuff but he doesn't rush over the basics and makes sure you understand what's going on before taking the next step. Really wonderful! Would recommend!

Bob assessed our daughter's current level of math ability and provided us with the information we needed to forge a path forward and get her back on track. He was extremely patient and used a variety of methods and approaches during this hour and half session. He was prompt and professional.

Robert successfully helped me get my program running while also explaining step by step what we were doing and why. He seems like he would be able to help students at every experience level. Highly recommended!
- Blythe L. from West Hills, CA
Worked with my high schooler who is struggling with AP Computer Science concepts, particularly related to Java programming. Didn't just show her how to do something and assume she then could do it herself, but patiently probed to make sure she was getting it.
- Anne H. from Seattle, WA
Very knowledgeable and even did pre work to help with the problems I had. Was able to clearly and concisely explain and teach. Will take lessons again in the future!
- Chris E. from Union, KY
I only wish we would have had more time but he kindly left me with some great tips and suggestions. I learned about destructuring an array, interpolating, finding and using selectors, indexes of an array, dynamically appending tags into the DOM through jquery and js, changing sources and attributes... he really knows his stuff! He helped me to get unstuck and taught me some things about debugging and using the source and console to find out where and why errors were occurring. I know more than I did going into this lesson, and that's what matters most. I will be utilizing his services again in the near future!
- Kendra R. from Dallas, TX
I have had many tutors but I know I can always rely on Robert! He is the best. Some of the reasons why I choose Robert as a tutor: He is very prompt in his responses. Setting up appointments with him is easy. He is a good communicator both online over text and online over video sessions. He is kind and understanding even when I have been late to appointments or slow to catch onto concepts. He can handle any difficult subject I throw at him and explain it to me with clarity. He has great availability and is flexible to my schedule. I know he cares about my learning! Even though I want to keep him as my own personal tutor, I would recommend Robert to everyone!!
- Aya D. from Provo, UT
We looked over JavaScript and setting up functions that were dynamic and not just single use necessarily. He was very patient and understanding in the fact that I was not familiar with certain concepts.
- Jessica S. from Portland, OR

The lessons are very engaging and I have learned a great deal from his problem solving approaches and constructive feedback. I look forward to booking more classes with him.
