Personal Statement

I was born in South Florida, but my work and family have taken me to sunny Long Beach, California. I attended Northwestern University for both undergraduate and law school and hold a B.A. and a J.D. from the institution. I lived in Italy for two years and worked as a tutor and teacher while living there. After returning from Italy, I consistently maintained a steady stream of students regardless of my obligations.

Tutoring has always brought me tremendous joy, and I have noticed an expone...

Choosing Matt as my LSAT tutor has been one of the best decisions I've made in my law school preparation journey. Right from the outset, Matt distinguished himself with his dynamic approach to tutoring, diving straight into lessons with enthusiasm and an impressive command over the LSAT material. His ability to immediately identify my learning needs and adapt the session content accordingly has been a game-changer, ensuring each meeting is maximally effective and personalized to my evolving goals. Matt's teaching transcends the one-size-fits-all strategy; he meticulously tailored each session based on my progress, areas of struggle, and the specific sections I wanted to focus on. This bespoke approach has led to measurable improvements between our sessions, significantly boosting both my skills and confidence. He has a unique talent for breaking down complex logic games and dense reading passages into digestible, understandable components, making what initially seemed daunting now feel entirely manageable. Thanks to Matt, I've not only mastered specific LSAT techniques but also learned how to approach the test more strategically and confidently. His guidance has been instrumental in my preparation, helping me to achieve a level of readiness I previously thought was out of reach in such a limited time. For anyone serious about improving their LSAT score and willing to put in the work, Matt is the tutor who can help you get there.

Matt and I went over many different types of logic games. He showed me how to set up the different games and assigned me homework to help further my understanding of it.

Matt is an incredible tutor! I had 14 lessons with him to prep for the October LSAT, which I took yesterday. Since everyone loves numbers, I was testing at around 158 when I started with him, and ended around 168! His method is great, and I loved his teaching style. We were able to focus on my specific weaknesses, and he offered great tips. He is funny, incrediblely knowledgeable, and was flexible with my busy schedule. He is well worth every cent!

I?ve been studying with Matthew for almost two months now and I am extremely pleased with his tutoring. Not only has he helped me improve my test-taking skills, he has also provided me useful insight into the application process and career field. Matthew is a professional and is a pleasure to work with.

I have been struggling with Logic Games. Matthew taught me a method that's simple and easy to follow. My scores are improving and my confidence is strengthened. Thank you Matthew!

Matthew was easy to understand by his method of teaching. I enjoyed our tutoring sessions. I feel confident in taking the LSAT. I will be taking the test next week. Thank you, Matthew, for all your help!

With Matt's guidance, I raised my score by about 20 points within two months. He was always professional, engaging, and personable during our lessons. However, the schedule that he creates for you should be followed strictly if you want results to follow. It may seem overwhelming at first, but the progression is apparent after the first two weeks. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my choice for an LSAT tutor.
- Jerry L. from Diamond Bar, CA
Matt is very patient and explains the lessons throughly. I also likes that he checks for understanding during the lesson to ensure it?s ok to move on to new material

I am working to improve my LSAT score, and am very glad I chose Matt as my tutor. We went through my current process, figured out weak points, and made a plan to drill and improve so that my scores increase. Matt is very personable and relaxed while being serious about what matters - the LSAT!

Matt is really patient and genuinely cares about assessing and producing growth in my LSAT studies. He helps me to think about problems in a more efficient, correct, and reasonable way that is already beneficial to my score. Recommend him!

We're practicing speed on logic games and reasoning. The LSAT is definitely at another level, but with dedication, persistence, practice, and having the proper support system the LSAT is achievable. Thanks Matt looking forward to our next session.

First visit. Set up plan for my son for the next 2 months. Looking for to more visits. Planning on virtual visit next time. First visit was in person. Great dog too!

I?ve had around 3 going on 4 lessons with Matt and I?ve thoroughly enjoyed each session! He is able to give helpful tips and tricks and works with you to improve each time. Especially for a student like me who loathes analytical games, he makes the experience less painful!
- Allison L. from Tucson, AZ
I?m currently struggling with logic games but Matt has been so patient and understanding with me during our tutoring sessions. With his help and continued practice on my own, I believe that logic games will finally be able to ?click? for me.

Matthew is absolutely great. As someone who is thoroughly indecisive and takes at least months if not years to make big decisions (as I spend lots of time researching pros/cons/reviews/ etc.) I can say with confidence that I made the right choice and that Matthew is 1000% the right tutor for anyone looking to learn, understand and gain insight into the LSAT process. (If you are looking for someone who is only great in name/title such as those who are Harvard law professors and 85 years old and charge 300-600$ per hour with a haughty and arrogant demeanor then Matthew would NOT be for you.) BUT if you?re looking for intelligence, someone who truly cares about your success on the LSAT, down to earth and goes the extra mile ? all of which are reflected in tangible increases in your scores ? then Matthew is your guy. For some he may be a bit pricey at close to 100$/ hr but it is completely warranted and it?s not a one sided investment. You invest in him and he invests twice as much in you. Also I appreciate his flexibility and empathy as someone who has lots of health/personal issues and often needs leeway in scheduling. You?ll find Matthew?s schedule is always relatively full and it?s only further indicative of his desirability as a tutor. And yet he still makes time ? even in between lessons and I have NEVER felt that I?ve gotten less than 100% of his effort just because of the amount of students he tutors. (This is something I am particularly weary of when I book someone for anything* not just tutoring.) If it is not clear by now, TLDR book Matthew he is really quite phenomenal and professional as a person and a tutor. ? someone who does not give out compliments easily

Matthew is very easy to work with! I found him to be encouraging, empathetic, knowledgeable, patient, and understanding! He makes difficult tasks better to understand and he develops approaches that make sense.

For lack of better terms Matt has the ?cheat codes? for the LSAT. Excited for my retake and continuing to work with him!
- Daniel H. from South Webster, OH
I knew Matthew was the right tutor for me as soon as we spoke on the phone. He brings a unique aspect to the tutoring world and it's obvious how much passion he has for helping young aspiring lawyers like myself. If I get things wrong, he shows new strategies and approaches to questions and has helped me improve significantly in our lessons so far. I can't wait to learn more from him!
- Bryanna S. from Lansdowne, PA
I took 4 sessions with Matthew over a month to improve my abilities on the LSAT logic games. I would definitely recommend him as a tutor. Not only is he clearly skilled at doing the games himself, but is great at teaching them as well. Matthew is personable and (as other reviewers have said) is great at adapting to your strengths and weaknesses. He adeptly balances encouragement with challenge. I am walking away from these lessons with useful tips and strategies, but also with an idea of what I can continue to work on by myself.
- Taylor G. from Chicago, IL
Matthew is an excellent tutor. I?ve met with him a few times and he has really helped me prepare for my LSAT. He?s understanding, patient and encouraging. Also, he is nonjudgmental which makes me comfortable and not afraid to ask for clarity if I don?t understand. I highly recommend him as a tutor!
