Personal Statement

I am an experienced Title 1, New York City Department of Education Certified Secondary School Teacher of mathematics with a Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics and a Master’s Degree in special education, relocating to Seattle. I am seeking a full-time position teaching middle school mathematics in a Title 1 school in SPS; please feel free to contact my current employer. Having experienced first-hand the power of education to break the cycle of poverty, I am committed to offering quality education to students in high-needs schools. Through an academic scholarship awarded by the Boys and Girls Club of New York, I was able to attend an elite boarding school in New England; after two decades of a career in banking and real estate, I returned to school to fulfill my desire to support kids by becoming a mathematics teacher.
