John showed me how to set up my computer and audio device for recording and accompanying on my guitar. John troubleshot and solved some of the issues I was having. By the end of the session I was playing A minor scale to accompanying track and I continue to practice this.

Thanks, John, for the useful help to get me started with the proper hardware and software recommendations to accomplish my end goal of crafting and using midi. It may be sometime before my next lesson as I work to pull together the gear and get some startup time on the new system. But we?ll get there.

Everyone is in a different place on their musical journey and from day 1 John has been there for me to help me discover the things I want and need to learn. Whether we are working on learning to sight sing or musical performance techniques or digital recording and production, John has a tremendous amount of experience. Together we created a safe space for me to explore different things and uncover my talents. John enabled my artist journey!!! And while I still have a looooong way to go, I'm not longer feeling around in the dark alone. Anyone interested in music, singing and performing would benefit from John's experience, kindness and ability to create a positive teaching environment. Love him!

We had a great first lesson with John! After many years without practicing I?ve managed to quickly catch up on the basics of music theory with the help from John. Waiting forward for our next lesson!

During this lesson we focused on vocals with guitar on a number of songs that we worked on previously. In addition we did a session of vocal improvisations over a backing track. We are also starting to incorporate using a microphone set up.

John was receptive of my interest and tailored the lesson to that, which made it quite productive. We reviewed to advance chord positions based on my music taste. Will definitely use him again!

As someone with ADHD I struggle with staying focused. John tends to move really fast, which is good for me since I have ADHD and get bored easily. But he also has no problem at all with slowing down in order for you to understand. I get distracted a lot and John would gladly repeat things for me that I?d miss. He?s also very encouraging. He makes you feel confident through encouragement while also giving you positive, constructive criticism.

During this lesson we focused on vocals without guitar on 2 Robbie Williams songs, ?she?s the one? and ?feel?. This approach is helpful because the vocals are quite challenging but we have been making progress in working through the songs.
