I playing Debussy and Chopin. Playing polyrhythms is challenging, but rewarding. I?m loving every minute of playing. I?m looking forward to the next recital!

The recital was my best performance so far! Having two recitals in the past six months has really helped focus my practice and improve my progress. I?m really looking forward to next year! Thanks James!

Even though it is so challenging, with careful study, Bach is helping me understand the keyboard, my hands, music, and how to make all three work together. It?s amazing how much music can happen between B7 and E. Bach combined with Grieg are also revealing the magic of dynamics and how a lighter touch yields more lyrical results. James?s method is fantastic! Thank you James!

I?m enjoying the Bach. Every three measures seems to reveal more and more about piano. I truly appreciate our piano lesson plan! Thanks James!

It is so gratifying to play Bach and Grieg. The melodies, harmonies, and time signatures are challenging, yet it?s a rush to be able to read the music, and make the music with my own hands. Thank you James!

My daughter had first piano lesson with Dr. Lent. That was great experience and very inspiring, so much to learn. 100 minutes passed quickly! Thank you very much for this wonderful opportunity.

Performing is always nerve wracking, but this year went great! I?m tackling Bach and Grieg now, and I couldn?t be happier!

Each new piece is always a challenge, but always brings new insight. I love the rags and Toccata has fallen into place. Thanks again James! This is a thrill!

Each week of practice brings new awareness to how I play. I?m noticing less tension, more ease, and a lighter touch. Still need to get my left hand to anticipate the bass clef better, but I?m making progress. Thanks James!

What a year! So much progress! Thank you for knowledge! Your ears! And last but not least your patience! I know: a lot of exclamation points, but, hey, it?s been a great piano year! Thank you! Look forward to ?23!

With each lesson I get better and better. It?s all coming together. I can?t believe I?m wrapping up Adventures 6. Thanks again for another amazing lesson!

Practicing scales and arpeggios is paying off when it comes to learning new pieces. It?s improved my reading as well as overall technique.

The biggest lesson I have learned from James is if you want to learn to play piano you have to learn to practice piano. I?m focusing on each note, each interval, each measure within every piece. It?s so rewarding!

James is helping me with the mechanics of singing - he's very knowledgeable in this area and knows how to explain to me what I should be doing, and how to do it correctly. Extremely helpful.

Almost all 12 major scales under my fingers. Working on the music within each measure and how it fits into scales and arpeggios. Looked at Mier. Easier to block chords on first page than I thought it would be! Thanks James!

Thanks for indulging mini Ligeti ?lecture.? I love seeing/hearing potential ?conversations? that can take place amongst seemingly disparate genres and artists that fuel my musical imagination. As far as practice, I?m zeroing on learning the challenge of each measure. This will help me transition from thinking about the music to truly listening to what I am playing. Thanks James!

The flat keys Re falling into place. Focusing much more on scales, arpeggios, inversions, and how they relate to each piece. It reinforces reading music intervalically(sp?). Certain measures of music become easier to understand and play. Thanks James!

I really love playing the piano. I?m looking forward to the recital, so I can experience playing in front of others. Looking forward to new challenges! Thanks James!
