Heather is amazing!!! My daughter needed help with her 7th grade Algebra and Heather responded right away. She made room in her schedule for my daughter so that she could understand some concepts she was struggling with. Sage is a bit shy but felt very comfortable around Heather. She learned a lot in an hour and has a good grasp on the concepts she was struggling with in order to complete her homework. We plan on meeting with Heather regularly to help Sage with her struggles. I am also mentioned to her that I was having some problems with my college course around statistics. She welcomed the opportunity to help me too. In fact, she took the time to consult with me a bit about my issues to get a better understanding of what context I was using statistics to better help me when we meet. I highly recommend Heather to anyone that needs a bit more help understanding concepts. She is friendly, polite, genuine, and very smart! I can't thank her enough for helping us out on such quick notice!

We are so grateful to have met Heather through Wyzant. We originally used Heather for our junior who needed to boost her SAT scores and with just a few sessions with Heather, her scores went up 10 points. The scores are important but what I really like is that Heather helped our student become confident with her math and study skills. We then used Heather for our sophomore who in the first week of math came home and said .. "I am already lost". We used Heather as a tutor every week and our sophomore went from being a discouraged math student to someone who felt empowered and smart. Heather was so great, she made the best use of the time and asked that our student come prepared, which she did, with her current work and questions. Our student really enjoyed Heather as a person and she went above and beyond what any tutor would do in explaining to us how we could the best help our student. I just wish Heather was our math teacher but we will plan to use her next year for math and for SAT prep as well.

Heather has a way of explaining calculus that makes the subject easy to understand. She has also taken a 10 page paper assignment and broken it into more manageable pieces. Her knowledge, approachable teaching style, and encouragement have been an excellent fit for our son. I highly recommend her!

I am very grateful that I had Heather as my math tutor. I was looking for a tutor so I could pass an Algebra 2 test in order for me to graduate from high school. She helped me pass my math test in a few weeks. She?s patient and knowledgeable. I have seen a few other tutors and by far Heather was the best. She is able to see you for larger chunks of time, I have found that it is difficult to find a tutor that can see you for more than one hour. Heather is working with my daughter on pre-calc which she has been struggling with all year. My daughter loves going to her tutoring sessions - she has fun and she learns a lot! In less than a month, her grade went from a C- to a B-. We are so thrilled!

Heather is a natural-born teacher. My mom had a stroke that left her unable to speak. I hired a speech pathologist but wanted to supplement this with another couple of English teachers to give my mom more practice and a mixture of approaches. When I asked Heather to do this, I knew this would be out of her regular scope, but she approached the challenge with great enthusiasm, empathy and lots of great ideas. She quickly adapted, was very analytical about what materials and practices would help most, and positively contributed to my mom?s speech improvement. She also, very thoughtfully, sent me summaries of the lessons with updates of my mom?s progress. Not only was Heather effective, my mom (who can be a little feisty), eagerly looked forward to her lessons. I highly recommend her for any teaching position.
