Frances helped me break down the process of sculpting. She also helped me write a Statement of Intent to several craft schools. She?s been a big help to me in pursuing my artistic goals.

I am a mostly self-taught artist who was looking for a more guided approach than what I was getting through books and videos. Frances has helped me make significant progress by adjusting lessons specifically to what I need to work on the most and by giving great feedback on the work that I do.

Frances is exactly the kind of painting instructor I?ve been looking for. She has a wealth knowledge about anything to do with painting and the art world present and past and is able to communicate very clearly. She listened to me and assessed my work and quickly had a focused plan to take me from where my skills are presently to where I hope to be. I enjoyed my first lesson with her and am looking forward to regular sessions with her in the months to come.

I'm an adult who has always had an interest in art and drawing but never pursued it beyond the occasional art class here or there. During our first lesson Frances looked at a few of my drawings and quickly identified areas that we could get started working on right away. I have been seeing Frances weekly for a few months now and I can see huge improvements in my drawing skills. She is so encouraging and I leave every lesson excited to work on the homework for that week. She is incredibly knowledgeable and has clearly spent many years refining her teaching style and approach. She has a unique ability to see and convey the big picture of what we are learning and working towards, while at the same time breaking down concepts so that they are easily understood. Each lesson very clearly builds on the last, and at the end of each session I feel like I've been given the next essential building block for the foundation of my drawing practice. I highly recommend Frances as an art tutor!

Frances has been working individually with both my girls (7 and 9) every week for over a year. Not only have their artistic skills improved dramatically (their sense of perspective, dimension, line, etc.), but Frances has also helped calm some of their frustration intolerance and perfectionism. Recently, we -- who had been homeschooling -- applied to private schools for the girls, and Frances took a great deal of time to write recommendation letters for them. (I heard from the admissions committees that her letters were extremely thoughtful and very well received.) We offered to pay Frances for the multiple hours she had spent writing the letters, but she wouldn't hear of it! We're so grateful that we found Frances and that we get to see our girls' artistry and creativity flourish.

I have been nothing but impressed by the level of detail and attention Frances has given to my son and myself as a parent. It is obvious she cares very much about successful outcomes for her students. Her breadth of knowledge has also been evident in every interaction. I am looking forward to watching my son's progress from her classes. She's been a great communicator, sending many insightful, instructive, and informative messages.

- Nii M. from Minneapolis, MN
Good! Frances is a knowledgeable quilter. She communicated well and takes a complete view of what a lesson ought to be. She also handled a slightly unusual situation (a lesson being given as a gift) well and made the logistics go smoothly.
- Nathan M. from Melrose, MA
Frances taught me not only skills about drawing but actual life lessons and how art translates over to every day life. I am beyond grateful I met her and know I will grow in my skill with her guidance. Cannot wait for next one!
- Elise B. from Carefree, AZ
Frances is setting me on the right track. She is taking what I?ve learned on my own and supplying me with crucial fundamentals. She is also very motivating.
- Travis M. from Herndon, VA
Frances gave me so much knowledge in the first lesson that it would have taken me months to learn. Informative, experienced, kind, great sense of humor, and a real pleasure. Her ability to explain such a complicated method in a way I understood immediately was so appreciated. I am excited for my future in art by learning from her.
- Stefanie K. from Austin, TX
Frances helped me appreciate my art and gave me tips for new ideas. She ?understood? my art in a very individual way and were able to show me ways to develop it. She is patient, very knowledgeable and friendly.
- Ebru A. from New York, NY
Frances was very kind, caring, honest and helpful. She was especially understanding about last minute and wanted to help unravel a deep problem that included art and special needs.
- C P. from New York, NY
This initial drawing lesson for my 10-year-old was excellent. Frances was positive, encouraging, and very kid-friendly/developmentally-appropriate, and quickly assessed my daughter's drawing capabilities and interests. They planned together what they would focus on for this and future lessons, and Frances recommended helpful supplies and techniques. We look forward to future lessons with Frances.

Frances is a teacher you want to have if you are truly serious about leaning fine arts. Her lessons to me started with fine arts principles and fundamental techniques such as projections and etc. I want to have her as my tutor for a long time to come.
- Ming H. from Darien, CT
Frances is very professional, she ensures you are getting your money worth by rendering her service with passion and dedication. She is very knowledgeable and gives you tips that are not usually shared or verbalized by other art instructors. I was amazed at how much information I learned during our 1.5 hours meeting. I highly recommend her, I?m so happy that I have found Frances because I know my drawing skills will improve a lot.
- Jacqueline T. from Brooklyn, NY
Frances is amazing! We saw immediate improvement in our son's art after the very first lesson. Frances has a talent for explaining and breaking down the "how to" of art. My son is learning so much from her and also feeling so much more confident in his own ability. I'm thrilled that we found Frances.
- Yvette R. from New Rochelle, NY
