Feng does a great job going into depth about Chinese culture and vocabulary. Learning a new word or phrase goes beyond memorization because Feng breaks down the origin of the word/phrase and has us discuss and practice common situations where it would be used in China. He is very patient, and even goes over our allotted time by a few minutes to finish explaining something.

Feng is an amazing teacher. He is always prepared with a lesson plan and activities for our sessions. He is very patient with my learning style. He thoroughly understands Mandarin and English and gives great examples on correct translations. He pushes me in a good way to continually work on the correct speaking tone of each word. He incorporates learning apps for the smart phone into each of his lesson plans. He gives a very manageable amount of review homework in between each session. He also covers Chinese culture into his lessons to better understand the target language. I would highly recommend him for children or adults who want to learn mandarin.
