Anne taught me the best practices in Excel(naming, shortcut, vlookup, pivot table etc.). What makes her a great teacher is that she made sure that all my problems were solved before we completed the class.

I need to use OneNote at work, but have never used it. Prior to our online session, I sent Anne Marie an email explaining the areas I needed help with. As soon as we started our screen sharing she jumped right in and watched me as I entered things and answered all my questions as we proceeded further. In this one session with her, I got the "jump-start" I needed to begin using OneNote. This morning I actually created 3 OneNote Notebooks and began importing data such as spreadsheets and word documents. Anne Marie was a great catalyst to get me started properly!

Anne Marie is the best Tutor I have found on Wyzant, regardless of the topic matter. She is a true professional in every sense of word. She works with you, in my case Microsoft Excel) to design a curriculum that starts from the beginning to the end of the subject matter. She supplies documentation, similar to a college course, that walks the student through the lesson plans. Most tutors are verbal teachers, not Anne Marie. Anne Marie teaches verbally with the help of the curriculum documentation she developed. Most topics, require documentation to help the student remember the topic and engrain it in memory. Anne Marie teaches from the ground up. I didn?t realize the value of this. Once the basics of the subject area is understood the learnings become mechanical, even if it is a complex area. To give an example of this is to learn driving a car. If a student is familiarized with the operational components of the car; gas, brake, emergency brake, turn signals, the information display, the spare tire and its jack, the gas cap, the hood release, key numbers to call, an SOS system if a car has one, then learning to drive becomes the focus and the operations is second nature. She has over 35 years background in the business and the university level. There isn?t much she has not seen or experienced. She marries the business/university skills together to share her capabilities with the student. She is very easy to work with and extremely patient. I am taking MS Excel courses with her. I am a student starting at the ground level working my way up the knowledge tree.
