FINE Mortuary College is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Funeral Service related courses. This position requires a funeral director license. The classes are live, online, synchronous sessions, held for 10 consecutive weeks at a duration of 4 hours and 10 minutes per class. This program leads to an AAS degrees in the funeral service education program.
We are looking for an individual to teach a variety of instructional objectives and courses related to the funeral service program. The instructor will deliver courses that follow along closely with the American Board of Funeral Service Education Curriculum for these topics. The instructor will evaluate and work with academic leadership when necessary to meet the needs of the changes in the industry.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university
- Must be a graduate of an ABFSE accredited school.
- Must hold a valid funeral directors license.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a funeral director.
- Minimum 3+ years teaching experience in a high school or post-secondary setting
- Experience developing and utilizing multimedia (audio, video, podcasts, etc.) to enhance student engagement in active and collaborative learning.
- Experience with a Learning Management System (Canvas preferred)
- Experience teaching a diverse student body.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Exam Software, and other online platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching at an ABFSE Accredited institution.
- Synchronous Online teaching experience with live online classes.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
