Job Description

Lead Teacher
As a Lead Teacher at LWELC, you will be expected to manage the overall operation of the classroom, which includes (but is not limited to):
* Assist the director and other staff in maintaining a safe and clean learning environment on a daily basis.
*Designing developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans.
* Mentor part time teachers in a caring and cooperative harmony.
* Develop and build parental rapport with positive and professional relationships.
* Ensure safety and health of children by providing a consistent, positive, and caring environment to children in care.
* Implement the developmental assessment to determine each child's strength as well as determine areas they may need extra help.
*Develop lesson plans/ gather materials and supplies in advance for daily activities.
*Light cleaning duties/gathering dishes after meals

· Customer Service skills in interactions with parents and guardians
· Knowledge/experience in child development (preferred)
Requirements:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Pediatric CPR and First-Aid Certified, or willing to obtain.
AND need to meet 1 of the 3 requirements listed below to be considered Lead Qualified per KDHE requirements.
· 6 months of experience in a licensed Child Care Center (ages 12 months to 2.5 years)
OR
- 12.5 observation hours in a licensed Child Care Center, ages 12 months to 2.5 years, (or willing to obtain observation hours during first week of employment) AND 10 Clock Hours or willing to obtain
OR
· 3 credit hours of relevant courses and 3 months experience (ages 12 months to 2.5 years) in a licensed Child Care Center.

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift (Monday-Friday)
