Hey Kiddo is hiring a Bar Manager with expertise in beverage techniques and culinary trends! We are seeking an imaginative and resourceful individual who thrives in the face of creative challenges. A minimum of 3 years of bartending experience is required for consideration, and culinary and/or management experience.

Hey Kiddo is managed by Id Est Hospitality, is a part of the inaugural Michelin Guide for Colorado, and is driven by a mission of enhancing local food systems by prioritizing the procurement of local and regional ingredients, seasonality, and sustainable approaches to the bar.   • Barkeep's Choice Centered Cocktail Program: Our beverage program empowers our bar team to showcase their extraordinary creative expression in cocktail making.

  • Culinary Integration: We take inspiration from the culinary world by incorporating techniques such as fermentation and other preservation methods to craft drinks using food items.

  • Seasonal Ingredients: We prioritize using seasonal ingredients that shine the spotlight on local and regional producers. By sourcing locally whenever possible, we support the community and ensure that our drinks are fresh, vibrant, and reflective of the flavors of the season.

  • Coordinated Beverage Selections: Our beverage selections rotate seasonally and are thoughtfully curated to align seamlessly with our food menus. This cohesive approach ensures that our guests can enjoy perfectly paired combinations, enhancing their overall dining experience.

Bar Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborating with the culinary team to develop seasonal beverage menus that harmonize with our menus, creating a cohesive and exceptional dining experience.

  • Upholding our zero-waste initiatives by partnering with the culinary team to uphold and expand our zero-waste initiatives by implementing ingredient cross-utilization and innovative preservation methods specifically tailored to our beverage offerings.

  • Providing outstanding service and exceeding guest expectations by maintaining our high service standards, delivering unforgettable experiences to our guests, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

  • Assisting with bar inventory management duties, including ordering, conducting inventory counts, and overseeing inventory maintenance.

  • Experience overseeing and managing teams

  • Developing and nurturing strong relationships with vendors to ensure smooth procurement processes and to stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovations.

  • Maintaining a clean and organized bar environment at all times, adhering to sanitation and safety standards.

  • Maintaining the maintenance and scheduling routine services and repairs for bar equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations.

The ideal candidate meets the following criteria:

  • At least 3 years of prior bartending experience, demonstrating a solid foundation in the craft.

  • Beverage Knowledge: Display a wide-ranging knowledge of beverages, including non-alcoholic options, coffee, beverage pairing, and fermentation. Stay up-to-date with beverage trends and exhibit a genuine passion for the field.

  • Culinary Techniques: Possess a diverse understanding of culinary techniques that relate to beverage making, allowing for innovative and creative approaches to crafting drinks.

  • Seasonal and Zero Waste Mindset: Embrace a zero waste and ingredient cross-utilization mindset, prioritizing sustainability and seasonality in cocktail making.

  • Cocktail Recipe Development: Exhibit the ability to independently create unique cocktail recipes for seasonal cocktail menus and pairing menus, showcasing your creativity and craftsmanship.

  • Hospitality Etiquette: Possess an excellent understanding of hospitality etiquette, ensuring exceptional service and creating a welcoming environment for guests.

  • Organization and Planning Skills: Demonstrate excellent organization and planning skills, allowing for efficient bar operations and effective inventory management.

  • Time Management: Exhibit strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring smooth operations during peak hours.

  • Attention to Detail: Have a keen eye for detail, ensuring precision in drink preparation, presentation, and overall bar cleanliness.

  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with guests, team members, and vendors, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Physical Requirements: Be able to stand on your feet for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs, and maintain the stamina required to meet the demands of the role.

  • Schedule Flexibility: Have the availability to work nights and weekends, as these are peak times for the bar industry. Availability to work holidays as needed.

Hey Kiddo & Ok Yeah: The newest concept by Id Est Hospitality, was launched in 2022 and is located in the Berkeley Neighborhood of Denver. We are focused on good and fun! Our space offers three distinct concepts - each with a different vibe and experience. Hey Kiddo is a traditional restaurant that offers globally influenced cuisine, Ok Yeah an intimate 15-seat bar offering craft cocktails and hand rolls, and a rooftop patio bar.
