Every single one of my classmates hated this class. We had to take a tech writing course for our OTA program. My OTA teachers gave her the layout of what OTAs use for documentation logs, and Parker-Hughes completely disregarded it. She made up her own version of an OTA "log" (keep in mind, she is NOT an occupational therapy practitioner, and has no experience with OTA documentation. That is exactly why my OTA teachers gave her the correct documentation instructions). Her "logs" were completely wrong in terms of true OT documentation. Everything she taught us this semester was completely irrelevant, and was repeatedly asked by the OTA teachers to stop using her "logs". She absolutely refused. On top of learning something that is completely irrelevant and useless, her instructions are very unclear, she doesn't use a rubric, and she takes major points off if you have any kind of small error. Even after you meet with her and fix the error, she backtracks and won't update the grade. The absolute worst experience. I wish I could be refunded for this worthless class.

Seriously. Don't take this teacher's classes. You will hate every minute of it. She is so particular about every tiny detail, and doesn't take any considerations about her students. The most rude teacher I've ever experienced. She's very unhelpful, never answers questions clearly, and her grading style is all over the place. She completely makes up rules, and if your assignment doesn't follow the smallest detail in her instructions, then be prepared for a very poor grade. Also, her instructions change on a whim.

This woman, my goodness. The worst teacher I have ever had, English or otherwise. She gives the harshest grades for the most minute details. She doesn't have any sort of concrete grading rubric. Everything is graded on a whim. I have been a straight A student my whole life. I got a C- on one assignment and her only feedback on that was that I used the word "paced" wrong. Her lessons make no sense, and what she teaches is contrary to any English or grammar textbook. She's rude when you try to reach out for more instruction or any kind of feedback. Avoid this teacher at all costs.
