Steve was a nice and relatable teacher. You could really tell that he cared about his students. The class overall was pretty easy. As long as you read the book/know the general topics you should be fine. There is also a lot of extra credit offered. I would definitely recommend this class! Easy, fun class. Teacher is a nice guy.
I took COM 113 online. Easy class as long as you follow the course outline. Basically a discussion each week that due (post a few times each week), a quiz every other week, and one paper due towards the end of the semester. I received a 3.5 only because I forgot to post 1 week for the discussion. Easy class. I would take it again. Awesome online course! Very helpful teacher that always gives good feedback.
I enjoyed taking public speaking with Steve. His tests are open-book and you have plenty of time to prepare for all of the speeches throughout the semester. Show up for both days of shame because it could be the difference from a 3.5 to a 4.0, take my word for it (you have been warned)!
Steve was one of the best, if not the best teacher I've ever had. Textbooks are required for open book tests, and tons of extra credit options are available for pretty much just showing up to class. If you need to take any class that Steve teaches, make sure you seek out his class! Open book tests with plenty of time for preparation and there are a few papers throughout the semester. Steve makes giving a speech in front an audience less intimidating and he provides feedback after each presentation.
His class is pretty easy; as long as you participate and deliver speeches, you will pass. The tests are really easy, and are open-book. He offers a few extra credit opportunities as well. If you are absent on speech day, you can make it up on the "day of shame", but there's only 2 for the semester. So my advice is: always show up on speech day!
Steve is a really cool guy I had him for online interpersonal communication. he was very helpful and the class was a lot of fun there is discussions and post that have to be done so you have to make sure to keep up with that he wasn't a hard grader but he does expect the work to get done. If you want to learn and have fun, there is no reason not to take this class. Steve is very easy going and has a wonderful sense of humor.
Steve is an awesome instructor! He is very helpful and very fair! All tests are open book which is nice. I would HIGHLY recommend him for any Communications class! All of the tests are open book, and basically just follow the headlines. He is really nice! I laughed a lot in that class. He wants everyone to know each other really well. He prepares you well for speeches. Take it with him!

His quizzes are tricky, and I found them to be time consuming. Overall he seemed like a nice guy and I thought he was an easy grader. I handed in an "okay" paper and got a perfect score. He also hands out extra credit points that are easy to get. Be sure to participate in the forum if you are taking the online course.
Most understanding and professional instructor I have had. He really cares about the success of his students. I have taken Com 101,113, and 201 with him. He's the best. People afraid of Communicating with others have no worries with Steve.
Steve, was my professor for my last class of the full day of classes and made up for all the craziness from the other professors. Extremely well liked by all. Tests are open book which is not my style but others liked it. Wish all my professors were like him. Very fair!
I cannot say enough great things about this professor. He is one of the best I've ever had. He truly takes an interest in each and every student. I highly recommend taking every class he teaches. He's funny and always makes his lectures/classes interesting.
Great instructor. Super laid back and understanding. Took the hybrid course. Lectures and non-graded activities were what consisted of our weekly class period. Forums/quizzes every week, but not difficult. Would definitely recommend him for any course.
Tests are worded very tricky took his web class. 7-page paper to write. Not too bad. Grades on a curve.
I had 2 classes with him, COM 101 and COM 113. He made both classes fun and simple to follow along, while still learning the information! He's a really nice and funny guy.
I took his online class and would recommend it to anyone. He's a great guy and keeps things simple and easy!
Steve is the man! I had an awesome time in his class. It is one of the few classes that I actually wanted to go to.
Steve is the best. His quizzes are tough because this is COLLEGE. Of course you wouldn't get the answers from him. My experience is that Steve is intelligent, fun, completely fair, has great stories and examples and KNOWS his stuff. He's awesome! One of the best professors downtown. Great stories, great energy, and fun to look at his bald head! He always helped my day to be fun, and the information he shared changed the way I interact with others. TOTALLY recommend this guy.
Great Instructor! Class was enjoyable. His quizzes are difficult, but they really make you think. I definitely recommend him. Cool teacher. Let's you use your textbook during the tests.
I love Steve Ott! He is funny, energetic, knows his communication stuff, and knows how to be serious and light. Steve rocks the house! Steve has been the best teacher by far. Very understanding, does a lot of group work, even for the final. Definitely recommend! You will actually want to go to class. |
