Run far far away! Worst class ever! Does no teaching and seems to think less of people who attend community college and even less of working single parents

This professor is the absolute worst. I was admitted to a mental hospital to receive treatment back in 2017. It was an emergency. Funny how the class he taught, applied behavior analysis, regards humans and mental health, and he gave me a failing grade since I missed the exam due to BEING IN A HOSPITAL FOR TWO WEEKS. I even hand wrote a letter WHILE in the hospital, to apologize for being out of class, even though I was su*cidal and in need of dire help. He gave no empathy whatsoever to the situation, and he refused to give me options other than to fail me. He is evil, inappropriate, and has no empathy whatsoever toward others.

Drop the class! Get your money back, this is the worst class I have ever taken!

How is this man still a professor? He uses terrible teaching tactics and does not care if his students pass his class. You pretty much have to teach your self. It’s all just reading and test no actual assignments to help you learn psychology concepts.

This man is not teaching students during the pandemic. Instead, he assigns readings and then quizzes over the readings. He has a slew of rigid rules and is very snobby and rude. According to public records, he makes over $130k/year (https://govsalaries.com/louisell-stephen-28852820). For what? He doesn't even record videos to help teach students. He provides little to no feedback. He should be fired.

I took his online course and it was the worst experience of my college years. He adds materials to the test that are not in the study guide, book, or links he provides. His quizzes are trick questions meant to stump you (if this person can bag groceries what level of mental retardation are they) . He is not helpful in any capacity, and demands you address him as Professor but cannot be bothered to say your name. Find a different professor this one enjoys failing others and not teaching.

I graduated high school with a 1.8gpa. I took his class online and achieved a 3.5. I would have a 4.0 if I didn't miscalculate the extra credit deadline. If you are looking to make excuses and have no achievement motivation in transferring to a top-ranked university, where the kind of studying Lousell requires will be the same, then look elsewhere.

Why does this school keep him around? This is the hardest teacher I have ever had. I am a 3.78 GPA and this one gave me a C! He is the worst instructor I have ever had. You should take someone else.

Way too hard for an intro. class. He feels that he has something to prove because he teaches at a community college. You will learn a lot if you can make it through his class, but not a very nice guy.

VERY HARD! AVOID at all costs. He seems to care a LOT about himself and not much about the students. He is very arrogant. His test questions are stuff he doesn't even teach. I would not recommend him at all!

Too hard to not attend already enrolled. Do not drop! He's head of the honors program. He teaches a lot, but too hard for an intro class.

The material is 40% Book 40% Websites he provides and 20% Chance. Some material is never covered. Quizzes do not reflect the material that will be on the tests. Appears to like having some failure in the class to weed em out. Thinks highly of himself and his field. Probably a good higher level instructor but a very poor intro teacher.

Avoid at all costs. Took the online class so I would not have to deal with his, from what I have read, HORRID lectures, and am paying the price. Unit two has over 70 definitions that you have to know. WAY too involved for an intro class. Avoid at all costs, seriously, this professor is 100% awful.

Own personal war on grade inflation: his goal is to challenge those with an extremely high IQ leaving behind the majority of average and above average students in intro courses.

This was the worst class I have ever had. The online tests are written so you will fail them. Instead of enhancing my academic outlook, the Kalamazoo Valley Honors Program was a drain on my energy, time and finances. I would highly recommend against taking this instructor for any class.

This guy expects way too much from an intro class. We started with 45 students and before I dropped out we had 12 students left in the class. His tests and quizzes are designed to make you study 6 hours a day or fail miserably. He loves high IQ people. Avoid this professor.

Avoid this class! I took it online, he REFUSES to help you. His mandatory orientation was on campus- for an online class! Then treated us like we were in kindergarten. He teaches from two 600+ paged textbooks, he expects you to read 200+ pages of external links. He depends HEAVILY on Wikipedia. Brags that the highest score is 90.2%. He hates giving A's.

This guy has no respect for the students, and no motivation to teach, he has no drive to improve students lives with education, I don't know how he has a job, his arrogant and rude, he obviously wasn't raised right, I have never had someone talk down to me so much, especially being an instructor, I expected much more out of him, what a disappointment,

I took the PSY 150 course from him over the summer. The tests are based on comprehension of the material. Though they were difficult, it was worth sticking with the class. I felt as though it was more work than most intro classes, but had learned a lot in the end.
