I took an elective English course with Prof. Frederick. I found her to be quite intelligent and engaging. Her grading was critical but probably fair. In the end I have a somewhat negative opinion of her as a professor because I found her to blatantly favor a couple students in the class and offer them unfair advantages like allowing consistently late assignments that wasn't allowed in general. I also sometimes have social anxiety when speaking in class but contributed at least one comment every class. One day something was off in the schedule so she decided that me and and another student would run the entire hour and a half discussion without any notice at all, the only time in the whole semester for her to do anything like that. I think it was apparent to her that I was nervous speaking in front of the class in general so I found this to be quite a mean-spirited thing to do. | |
She explains well and makes the classroom fun and exciting but grades hard |
