 Professor Chan is an exemplary educator who is there to make sure that you succeed. I took Applications of Artificial Intelligence (CMSC 307) and could not be more satisfied with Professor Chan's style of teaching. Class projects were both fun and rewarding. He is fast to respond to emails and will answer any question in detail. Highly recommend.

 I have completed my degree and learned a lot, have been searching for someone who has seen my code skills before and allow me to list you as a professional reference. Thank you very much professor I really appreciate your work. It was a pleasure being in your class and learned the latest skills in CMSC 307 6381 Artificial Intelligence Applications. Two thumbs up!

 This was his many semester teaching the class online! He's a great professor. Unfortunately, I only had the chance to meet him virtually. Is pretty lenient with group project and online homework/assignment deadlines as long as you turn it in 24 hours after the deadline. I enjoyed this class a lot with freedom to pick group project topic and team.

I completed Current Trends and Projects in Computer Science CMSC 495)with you and received an A. I have been searching for my first position as a software developer for a professional reference from someone who has seen my code before. I would appreciate to allow me to list you as an external professional reference. I appreciate the nice journey your course has taken me through over the past eight weeks and I greatly value the lessons I've learned during my time here. I must tell you that your course was one of my final courses of my undergraduate career. All of my computer science degree requirements have been met and, with some trepidation, I begin a new chapter in my life. However, completing my degree does bring some surprising benefits outside of a good education. Work has offered me a promotion with my letter of completion. Thank you for your time over these past eight weeks and for your consideration of my online work.

 Highly recommend taking the course. Latest CMSC495 online lectures were very good. We were very interested, excited by the group project. When presented materials online (voice) but narrating nice in most areas. The course online discussion is mandatory. A note on final team project, I think I actually prefers group effort and allow more team members to get points across and share technical skills in programming and project planning.

 The course included a programming component to help the students gain an intuition for project management, initial design, scheduling, stages of real development and group efforts, with unique programming focused. Although the eight-week course was fast pace, it attracted a diverse crowd of classmates from many areas to work mutually. It was a unique experience for me. Thank you! I really learned with great insights toward computer science trends and project in this high-level course. CMSC 495 taught at UMUC that designed independently but share a broad, engaging introduction to computing for computer science major. I think the course helped my understanding, and attitudes towards current topics in project management, computing, and computational issues.

 This professor was helpful to me and provided extra time for other students as well who were having similar issues with home works, quizzes, and projects. Right teacher so far, good for the subject matter. Helpful in studying the topic. I think I will take his course again.

 The web site for the 8 Weeks Class Syllabus and Class handouts clearly explain what is expected of the student. One of the best CMIS instructors and classes at UMUC I have so far. He provided reasonable amount of material coverage every week. No surprises with the take home projects help. Instructor also provided guidance every step of the way.

 This professor responds quickly to my questions. Grades fairly for eight weekly participation. He seems really care about his students with a lot of patient. I would highly recommend Dr. P. Chan. I am also military and had an unexpected TDY in some cases. Dr. Chan worked with me the entire time and walked me through the process of getting my work completed.
