Manufacturing Equipment Engineer, Production Control A manufacturing equipment engineer in the productioncontrol team will be a part of operating, sustaining, and improving some of themost automated manufacturing equipment in the world. What You’ll Do Sustain 24 by 7 production operations through respondingto and resolving breakdowns quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime
Work collaboratively with design, product excellence,production operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering,Maintenance and other cross functional teams as the expert to ensure productionlines run in a safe, efficient manner producing high quality parts.
Program ladder logic and structured text on multiple PLCcontroller platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens and Beckhoff)
Program and teach industrial 6-axis robots(Fanuc)Sequence complex, multi-station machinery for material pick-and-place,dispense, fastening, welding and conveyance applications
Manage engineering projects with Automated GuidedVehicles (AGVs) and successfully integrate fleet equipment throughout areas inthe factory
Lead equipment upgrades with a focus on serviceability,reliability and process capability.
Drive project improvements on Vertical ReciprocatingConveyors (VRCs) and other material flow fixed conveyance and ASRS systems.
Responsible for continuous process optimization ofautomated lines
Become owner / subject matter expert to driveequipment-related process improvement including detailed troubleshooting androot cause analysis.
Build training material, maintenance routines, servicebulletins, and related documentation related to cradle to grave equipment lifecycle management
Interface process and test equipment with Tesla MES andproduction quality databases using Python scripting and SQL
Develop and improve equipment validation proceduresincluding calibration and qualification
Identify equipment critical spare parts and ensuresufficient coverage to prevent extended downtime situations
Provide hands-on support to maintenance team totroubleshoot and resolve extended downtime situations.
Familiarity with SPC and development ofequipment-related OCAPs
What You’ll Bring BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or ComputerEngineering or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptionalability
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good overall computer skills with demonstrated ability ina programming language
Structured problems solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D,etc)
Able to work under intense time pressure in the presenceothers
Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, andconfiguration
Experience with robot programming, backup and restoration
Experience in automotive or high volume manufacturing ishighly desired
Willing to work days, afternoons, nights and weekends asdetermined by project needs
