Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Eryn and I am a university student at the University of Delaware. I have always loved kids and teenagers, and tutoring has been a long-time passion of mine. When I was 12 years old, I decided to do a volunteer service project where I would tutor local students at a homeless shelter. As I got older, I was more knowledgeable and able to help older students with homework, as well as understanding material they did not understand during class. Until March 2020, I continued this job consistently, and created lasting bonds with these kids. Even so, I have continued tutoring students of all ages outside of that. I love being able to see someone finally understand a topic they didn’t believe they could, or watch a student finish a stressful and difficult essay. I cannot wait to see what you can accomplish!
