Dr. Boiani in my opinion was the best chemistry professor at SUNY Geneseo. I graduated with a biochemistry degree. I took Freshman Chem, and MAC with Dr. Boiani. Dr. Boiani's classes are NOT easy but as long as you put in the work, you will do well. His tests are very fair, and there are no surprises or curveballs, he will only test you on what he has previously covered in the classroom. In regard to the other people saying that it was hard to follow is handwriting in the classroom, I didn't have that problem. Just know that in order to teach chemistry effectively, it is necessary to write out the chemical reactions as well as the mathematical calculations on a projector so you can also understand the thought process involved. He does not go fast, and if you have any questions during the class, he is more than willing to stop and clarify until you understand. TL;DR: Dr. Boiani is fair, his classes are not easy. You get what you put in, so work hard and you will get a good grade. He is approachable and willing to help you understand by working it out with you during class/office hours. Just take the class with him.
