As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
Ability to confidently navigate deep water and use watercraft like surfboards, paddleboards, and kayaks
Pass lifeguard prerequisite exam including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water for 2 minutes without using hands
Previous experience working with or teaching children preferred
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification preferred but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
