Dr. Zheng was an amazing prof. Yes he does have an accent and yes P-Chem is a really hard class espcially the 311-313 series which i required by ACS. But Zheng did an awesome job of explaining the material and making it do able everything he puts to the review is what will be on the exam. Just memorize the equations and derivations and ull be golden Grade Received: A-

He curves a lot for his class because everyone always gets low scores on the midterms. He assigns homework that is worth 20% of your grade, so do it because it can save your grade. Also, his lectures are straight from the book, so if you read the book, you'll most likely do well on the midterm. His midterm and final consists of worked examples from the lecture/book and the homework problems from the book. The concepts are quite difficult to grasp. He is a nice teacher but his teaching method can imporve. Grade Received: B

I think he is the greatest and the most caring professor at Calpoly. He'll do his best for you to understand the material. PChem is not easy at all, so don't just sit there and hope that you will comprehend everything from his lecture. It is because it is imposible for him (or any other professors) to do it and you are not that smart. At first, I did not really understand his lecture, but after reading the book, the examples from it, and doing the homework , his lecture note became so clear and totally made sense to me. Our second midterm and the final were open note and textbook (and everything), but they were kind of challenging. But he curved. Grade received: A-.

I dreaded taking chem because I was never good at it and I did pretty bad on his quizzes and midterms but as long as you talk to him enough and visit him at his office hours for help and show him that you're determined and trying to get a good grade in his class he's really understanding and flexible. Though I strongly dislike Chemistry, I actually enjoyed Dr. Zheng's class. He's really funny. His jokes are kind of corny, but funny in that way. He really knows what he's doing, and loves to help out. I e-mailed him on a regular basis and he got back to me very promptly with good explanations. He understands that most people are taking this as a GE, but hopes you'll find it a little interesting on the way.

He know stuff, but he just can't tell much due to his ascent. He always speak slow. People seem to be screw by his slow and strong ascent speaking. Still, he seems friendly. He could even remember my name 2 quarters later. What you need to do is ask him. Even he has strong ascent, just go ask. He likes to help. Grade Received: B

Typical BORING mediocre Poly prof. Good luck understanding his "English" but I guess that seems to be the trend in this school. Class was way easy and he was too lazy to even give us a final (thanks though). If you just need a good grade in physical without really wanting to learn anything take Dr. Zzzzzheng and this class! There are some other new prof. in this area which are supposed to be more experienced but they were teaching another class. Grade Received: B
