friendly
Cons: fast teaching
kind of harsh grading
this is for math 114 calc I
she is a nice an friendly teacher, she gives tons of hw which is a big part of your grade so do it. her test are hard and she really likes trig type problems so know those. everytime i took her test i would feel like i really did well ( she will give a study guide so you can know what to look for). i would turn in the test knowing how to answer all the questions. i would get it back and get a C everytime. i dont know i understand the homework with no problem. just study study study.. grade received B-
- Very hot.
- Has good knowledge of the subject.
- Extremely fair exams.
- Very generous with partial credit.
Cons: - Lectures are very long and she tends to write out literally everything she says.
- Homework is fair, but sort of lengthy.
- Doesn't give out study guides (this isn't too bad though since the homework reflects exactly what will be on the exams.)
One of the easier professors to have for MAT 215 in my opinion. She collects homework once a week and it is a fairly large portion of the grade (20%-25% if I recall correctly) so make you sure you actually do it as it will also give you breathing room should you mess up on the exams. There were two exams (each 5 questions). Usually 1 REALLY easy question, 3 medium difficulty, and 1 hard question. Typically as long as you show you know what's up, you'll get good credit. As mentioned previously, she doesn't use study guides, but she will tell you which homework assignments best reflect what will be on exams so I recommend just going over those problems again. Overall, I highly recommend her. Don't forget to do your homework (don't procrastinate either as each assignment will take quite a while). Grade Received: A
She's like most other math teachers/professors you've had throughout your life - in that, she presents the material by rephrasing the textbook. The material itself isn't interesting nor easily understood conceptually, and because the way she teaches and answers questions, I believe she doesn't understand the materially a lot more than we do.
She is very approachable and very friendly, so don't be afraid to ask questions. She is also kind of laid-back as she lets your turn in homework late if you show that you were putting effort in it.
Finally, her tests are very straightforward and she tells you which sections will be on the test. You are allowed to have a 3x5 index card for formulas so you don't have to memorize them.
Friendly
Greater instructor
Ms. Prado is a really good instructor! I learned a lot in her class. She really takes her time to go over the lessons and make sure you understand every component of it. She often collected homework late so that was a plus if you didn't do it. The book is really expensive about $110-$120 and its necessary to buy because all of the homework is out of the book. Overall I would recommend her. Really good instructor and if you need extra help she's super helpful during her office hours.
Friendly but not fake
Knows her stuff for legalistic people who try to challenge her content
Cons: Hard to get a hold of during exam times
students give you that don't bother us look if you show up to her office and she has someone already one on one
Best math professor I ever had, she made statistics extremely straight forward however expected you to know what your doing on the exams. I received a B- and thought it was very very fair. Visit office hours if you want to succeed, she makes herself a very useful professor and glad she's offered as a choice at this university. Thanks Monica!
easy to get ahold of
Cons: she is still a student and is learning how to teach
the homework is on connect math.com
she is pretty a good teacher. she grades tests a quizzes easy and corrects your mistakes for you. the only bad thing is that her quizzes and tests do not prepare you for the final. the problems are harder on the final.
Cons: doesnt give study guides
i recomend this teacher for stats 120
- goes through each section & shows examples
- goes over notes for final in class
- encourages questions
- very nice
Cons: - alot of homework
- each class meeting was a new math section in the textbook
- alot is covered in a short amount of time (fast)
She's very nice, has good availability for her office hours & is okay with reviewing anything during her office hours or at any other time. She's very flexible. I took the online course & we didn't use the textbook AT ALL. I'd advise against purchasing it, just pay for the online access to the program which will be neccessary for submitting homework. Plus, it's a better resource, considering it's just a hardware version of the textbook. If you don't show up to class, you'll miss alot.
Cons: Sometimes she goes to fast
