she is a nice an friendly teacher, she gives tons of hw which is a big part of your grade so do it. her test are hard and she really likes trig type problems so know those. everytime i took her test i would feel like i really did well ( she will give a study guide so you can know what to look for). i would turn in the test knowing how to answer all the questions. i would get it back and get a C everytime. i dont know i understand the homework with no problem. just study study study.. grade received B-

Pros: - Very nice.
- Very hot.
- Has good knowledge of the subject.
- Extremely fair exams.
- Very generous with partial credit.
Cons: - Lectures are very long and she tends to write out literally everything she says.
- Homework is fair, but sort of lengthy.
- Doesn't give out study guides (this isn't too bad though since the homework reflects exactly what will be on the exams.)
One of the easier professors to have for MAT 215 in my opinion. She collects homework once a week and it is a fairly large portion of the grade (20%-25% if I recall correctly) so make you sure you actually do it as it will also give you breathing room should you mess up on the exams. There were two exams (each 5 questions). Usually 1 REALLY easy question, 3 medium difficulty, and 1 hard question. Typically as long as you show you know what's up, you'll get good credit. As mentioned previously, she doesn't use study guides, but she will tell you which homework assignments best reflect what will be on exams so I recommend just going over those problems again. Overall, I highly recommend her. Don't forget to do your homework (don't procrastinate either as each assignment will take quite a while). Grade Received: A

This is the review for MAT 214.
She's like most other math teachers/professors you've had throughout your life - in that, she presents the material by rephrasing the textbook. The material itself isn't interesting nor easily understood conceptually, and because the way she teaches and answers questions, I believe she doesn't understand the materially a lot more than we do.
She is very approachable and very friendly, so don't be afraid to ask questions. She is also kind of laid-back as she lets your turn in homework late if you show that you were putting effort in it.
Finally, her tests are very straightforward and she tells you which sections will be on the test. You are allowed to have a 3x5 index card for formulas so you don't have to memorize them.

Greater instructor
Ms. Prado is a really good instructor! I learned a lot in her class. She really takes her time to go over the lessons and make sure you understand every component of it. She often collected homework late so that was a plus if you didn't do it. The book is really expensive about $110-$120 and its necessary to buy because all of the homework is out of the book. Overall I would recommend her. Really good instructor and if you need extra help she's super helpful during her office hours.

Pros: Young with stamina to help you
Friendly but not fake
Knows her stuff for legalistic people who try to challenge her content
Cons: Hard to get a hold of during exam times
students give you that don't bother us look if you show up to her office and she has someone already one on one
Best math professor I ever had, she made statistics extremely straight forward however expected you to know what your doing on the exams. I received a B- and thought it was very very fair. Visit office hours if you want to succeed, she makes herself a very useful professor and glad she's offered as a choice at this university. Thanks Monica!

She is good at explaining. I have always been bad at math but I did not think her class was too hard. She is a nice lady. I would recommend this class to anyone.

Cons: she is still a student and is learning how to teach
the homework is on connect math.com
she is pretty a good teacher. she grades tests a quizzes easy and corrects your mistakes for you. the only bad thing is that her quizzes and tests do not prepare you for the final. the problems are harder on the final.

Very good teacher! She help you with everything, to a point. She makes sure you understand everything and makes the material easier to comprehend. She is really easygoing and approachable when needed. The quizzes and exams are based on the material done in class and her study guides for them are very helpful. Highly recommend taking her!

Pros: - online
- goes through each section & shows examples
- goes over notes for final in class
- encourages questions
- very nice
Cons: - alot of homework
- each class meeting was a new math section in the textbook
- alot is covered in a short amount of time (fast)
She's very nice, has good availability for her office hours & is okay with reviewing anything during her office hours or at any other time. She's very flexible. I took the online course & we didn't use the textbook AT ALL. I'd advise against purchasing it, just pay for the online access to the program which will be neccessary for submitting homework. Plus, it's a better resource, considering it's just a hardware version of the textbook. If you don't show up to class, you'll miss alot.

I don't feel that Prado was a good teacher for a remedial class. She didn't interact with the class at all. Everyday was her just writing notes on the board, explaining the concepts half-way (while facing the board), and doing the homework on mathzone.com. Anyone taking a remedial class, clearly, is going to need a little more attention and explanation that your typical math student. She seemed inexperienced (granted, she's very young), and somewhat unapproachable.

This review is for MAT12. Prado is an great teacher; she can connect with her students since she is also taking classes at cal poly. She provides notes for the class and takes attendance so it is necessary (if you want points to pass the class) to attend the class. Her quizzes and tests are easy but since she does not write the final exam - the final is nothing close to her style of writing quizzes and tests. She's available most of the time in her office hours so I recommend if you miss her class; go to her office and take notes and ask questions. In order to complete the homework online students must purchase MathZone. Buy your keycode online and DO NOT BUY THE BOOK from the bookstore (we never use it). Besides, MathZone online provides a PDF File of the book itself. She does not provide review classes before quizzes or tests like she did in MAT11 but she gives a vague outline of what you need to study. Good luck. Grade Received: A-

This review is actually for mat12. yet the site wont allow me to choose it. she is very easy to talk with and very understanding if your pc cant connect to mathzone. most of your work is on mathzone anyways. but you will still need your book possibly. the exams are very well covered. she will give you what each problems subject area is and where to find it in your books and lecture notes. she doesnt require you to stay awake the entire time because she keeps writing everything step by step. just remember to look at the board every 5 min otherwise itll get erased. make sure to keep a laptop with you in case the schools pc's are down. those tend to have system failures or degrading mice or keyboards. the class is around 2 hrs but theyre well spent. id recommend her to anyone who needs to do their mat 12 section. Decent teacher. You don't need that 110 dollar worthless book because all your homework is on mathzone (50 dollars online). She will teach for twenty minutes and then let you do the rest of your homework online. In the beginning of the quarter she said we have to do class assignments before we leave.. but she did it only once. We get a class review before the quiz for next class. She gave us a final review sheet - but the questions we're irrelevant to the actual final. Expect to be factoring problems alot, we did it for the last few weeks of the quarter. Grade Received: B+
