he is the most disorganized person I have ever known.Does not know how to motivate students in fact at times he may succeed in demotivating you.
He is misleading because he makes everything sound easy, will seem to be a very fun guy but when it comes to grading he will suck all the happiness out of you.He does not care about his students, half the time he is late and the other half he not altogether there. There is no clarity and you will be left to strive for yourself. Consider yourself lucky if he responds to emails.
He may have done a lot of research ,may know a lot but he does not know how to teach.
Avoid him if you can.

Pros: easy class
Cons: quizzes are difficult because the teacher can be a spaz and will distract you while you take it
easy class to get through...but it is up to you to learn the material by yourself because you will need to know it.

Pros: He's very knowledgeable about construction and materials. Certain assignments, such as drawing your building section, is very helpful in understanding your building. As a result, this benefits you in your studio class. Sometimes you run into obstacles that prevent you from finishing your projects on time, but Fox is always willing to change the due date. Plus, he provides a number of extra credit opportunities, which you should always take.
Cons: He's very disorganized and sometimes forgets due dates. That doesn't mean you can skip turning in assignments.
His lectures consist of going over a PowerPoint presentation and a quiz about the last lecture. It's wise to look over last week's lecture right before class to help you do well on the quiz.

Pros: Fox pushes his students to design and think outside the box, especially since his architectural taste is different from that of the other professors. When he actually takes the time to examine your work closely, he provides helpful insight and suggestions to improve your project.
Cons: He's so focused on making things look "cool" that he can ignore the actual architecture of your building.
You have to show that you want help from him.

Pros: doesn't ask too much of details, just sprinkle a little bit here and there
Cons: there are multiple due dates (one / week)
focuses more on general feel for each lecture . again, if you do what his syllabus says, and don't skip on any you'll get an "a"

Pros: Cares about putting together a great string of lecturers and branches out from traditional architecture.
Allows computers.
Cons: Requires an essay to be written about each lecturer. It isn't that bad but it doesn't help that the class is usually poorly timed.

He's quite a character. His methods are interesting, but he likes having his students on pointe. He is quirky, might seem to have an ADD problem, and sometimes likes to ignore you alltogether, but overall, he knows what he is doing and will be willing to help you out with ideas, suggestions, or even graphics if you really show that you want it. Sometimes you have to chase him down if you need help or anything from him. Otherwise, i believe one may enjoy his class is there is patience involved. Grade Received: A-

This is the lab portion of the class, so this is the same review as for the lecture:
}Ok, Michael Fox is a conundrum... He is sometimes hilariously funny in class and you think he is a great guy. Then he tells you to take out a sheet of paper and take a pop quiz on insignificant details on something you just went over 10 minutes ago. He has done some very good architectural work, but the man needs to put some effort into teaching a class. He basically just doesn't seem to care much about the class. He is inconsistent in his grading and feedback, unclear on directions/requirements, & sometimes unhelpful/unresponsive to student concerns. The organization of the class was a mess sometimes, with dates/requirements being changed and the worst times. He clearly doesn't want to be teaching the class, and shouldn't be. Grade Received: A-

He Definitely may seem to have A.D.D. sometimes, but he is one of the smartest people I have ever met. He is very intuitive and innovative, as well as inspiring. He will help bring out the best designer in you, as well as challenge you to do your best. He expects more than any other professor i've had yet, but if you are a student that works hard, you shouldn't have a problem with that. Grade Received: A

Michael Fox is by far the worst teacher any person could ever have( this is coming from somebody who works hard). Why is he so bad as a teacher? 1)He holds class over half an hour and never starts on time. 2) He inconsistently grades students papers harshly, at times not knowing why he gave you the grade that he did, and without explaining the assignments clearly ahead of time(you are completely on your own). 3)He expects you to write at 100mph, and listen to him all at the same time, on new material that you have never seen before, and in the end, you are asked to take a quiz to recall every single detail from the powerpoint(i.e. What's the longest length a 2 by 4 comes in?....) 4) He has A.D.D times 200. He does not know how to teach at all. You better know how to teach yourself!!!!! or......he will probably fail you.
