Pros: Easy-going, approachable, great personality
Cons: Nothing
I'm currently taking MHR 320 right now and all I can say are positive aspects about Dr. Deborah Brazeal, she knows what she's talking about when it comes to entrepreneurship. She explains in detail about the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and gives you a open-mind about this field. If your ever considering to be a entrepreneur take this course with this professor and I promise you that you won't be disappointed. The class consists of 3 projects: 2 group projects and 1 individual

Pros: Approachable

Super Nice
Always willing to help her students
Fun and upbeat
Cons: None
Professor Brazeal is a great professor. She is knowledgeable in all aspects of entrepreneurship and is always willing to help. There was no attendance in the class but honestly it was so enjoyable I really couldn't miss a class. The class consisted of two group projects (very easy) and one entrepreneur interview (also very easy). She is always available to help you via e-mail, office hours, in class etc and makes these projects extremely simple. I highly recommend anyone needing this class take it with her, you won't regret it.

Pros: easy class

This is a very easy class. You only show up to class 3 times and you turn in a journal online through email once a week. Journals are 1 page single spaced about your internship and other stuff. Pretty easy. Shes very nice and understanding and works with you if there are issues.
5 work Journals (10pts each) 50 pts
Employer Evaluation 50 pts
Project & Presentation 100 pts
3 Meetings 50 pts

Pros: Great for developing your ideas
Cons: Some of the activities seem very odd
The class was entertaining, and there is a lot of work, but some of it is as simple as writing to let her know you finished the assigned work and it's really about what and how you think rather than forcing you to memorize things in a book. Fun to listen to other business ideas.

Pros: -Easy professor
-Attendance not mandatory
Cons: -Class is basically the exact same thing as MHR 301
-You pay full price to see her half the time or less (not sure if this is really a con for all of us)
Easy professor and she's very nice and chatty. There's 2 exams, 1 paper, and group project. Her paper is really easy to do, it was originally 2 papers but she missed the first day of class so we only have to do one paper. Exams are extremely easy as long as you study the subjects in the textbook. Group project is super easy since she does not really have a guideline on what she wants so go creative on it. You don't really need to buy the required text since you can get the same thing from an older mhr book and she got ppt online. Take her if you want an A.

Pros: Very nice, easy class
Cons: Exam 2 was harder than the first so be sure to do good on both to improve your grade.
I took Professor Brazeal during the Spring quarter of 2011 and I must say if you are going to take MHR 318 or any other classes in the MHR department take her. She's really friendly, nice, and gives opportunities for students who need the grade. The class consisted of two exams, two assignments (though 1 was turned into an extra credit assignment since she was sick the first day), and 1 group project which is really easy. Overall I recommend this professor if you are going to take this class as it would be one of your easiest.

Brazeal is the best! She is a kind hearted woman who is truly interested in teaching and helping students develop their business ideas. The class is very casual and the workload is light. It consists of 2 projects and an entrepreneurial interview. If you put in valid effort and are genuine, you will easily receive an A. She stimulates students' creativity and seriously has inspired me to become an entrepreneur! Grade Received: A

This is a review for the Summer 2009 section which was reduced to a 5 week schedule because of the stupid budget cuts, but from reading some other reviews, she basically taught it the same way even though it was her first time teaching a 5 week section. Basically, she cuts class time in half because she only needs half the time to cover the material, so we met 2 times a week instead of 4. And most times we even got out of class early. Only one books is required, it doesn't cost much, and is easy to read. You will need it as she goes through the book to tell you what she will test you on. Tests are multiple choice, only two midterms and no final. She likes in class exercises, discussion, and participation, so show up to class. The papers are simple, usually 2 pages on topics discussed in class. Just know how to write and get your ideas down on paper. A group project posterboard/presentation/paper is due at the end of the quarter, but its relatively straight foward. Just make sure to follow her guidelines for what she wants researched. Also, if the class is big, she'll try to limit the presentation time to 5 min, but a lot of groups in class went well beyond that time, and not everyone in the group needs to present. She's real nice, loves discussing behavior, understanding people, and will answer most questions you give her. Has a real laid-back attitude and is real friendly. Grade Received: A

This class was a pretty easy class. You go 8 times in the quarter (with most meetings being in the beginning). You do not really need the book, I read the whole thing and it did not help me with the class, but it will be helpful if you plan to start your own business in the future. There are 3 projects, each with 100 points. The first project is the most difficult because it is due in week 4 and it has more to it. You will get with a group and pick a business that you want to start. Make sure you have a person in your group that has been through IBM 301 because you have to write about your target market, which is something covered in that IBM class. This particular project you also have to do a presentation in front of the class. The second project is an interview with an entrepreneur. Just write 6-7 pages on this person and you will be okay. You can even interview your parents if they have started a business! The final project is where you continue writing about your business and the location and promotion and advertising (again, you need someone who has taken IBM 301). You will also have to do a SWOT on this project. This professor does not give what you would consider a typical lecture, but she is pretty laid back and as long as your idea is creative, it will be okay with her. She says 6 pages for the paper at minimum, but trust me, you will do so much more. Ours was 13 pages! She is a fair grader and she will always make herself available to you for questions in office hours. Grade Received: A

You couldn't ask for a better instructor than Brazeal. She knows her stuff, lectures are very informative and is very friendly with her students. You pick groups almost immediately and set on a business. The class is easy and consists of 3 projects worth 300 pts total. The first project is a paper and presentation (100 pts), the second is an interview paper (100 pts), and the third is the final paper (100 pts). She generally asks for a minimum of 6 pages or more for the papers, so its not bad at all seeing as how splitting the work between group members makes things easier for everyone. The class scheduale worked out great as well, seeing as how we only met 8 times the entire quarter. I actually liked attending her class, maybe because of the fact that I was taking ACC and FRL, which were hell. Take Brazeal if you can, if not take Laura Pohopien, she's great too. TAKE HER! She is such a great prof! Nice, easy, fun...one of the best prof I've had! Actually, I think the best! BTW she made our class hybrid (met like 6 times throughout the quarter)but even if it wasnt hybrid I wouldnt mind going to her class bc shes really fun. Heres the deal with the class: 2 exercises (easy 2 pgs)50 pts each, 2 exams (study her powerpoints! I didnt even read the book...got an A- in the class! Plus she tells u what will be on the exams!) 100 pts each and a group poster board project (only one person has to present) 100 pts. Couldnt have asked for a better, easier class! Plus u actually learn!! :) Grade Received: A-

Dr. Brazeal is an excellent professor! This class is a hybrid class so we basically came to school once a week and had only 8 class meetings. NO tests or quizzes. Grades are based on 2 group projects/assignments and on an interview with an entrepreneur. You don't even need the book for her class. She's always available either by email or at her office if you ever need to ask her questions or just chat. She's a very nice professor and I wouldn't mind taking her for another subject. MHR 321 is a hybrid class meaning you meet half at school and do the homework at home. The syllabus consists of 300 points being a group presentation, creativity guidebook, and a business concept/innocation project (all equal weighted). The presentation is presenting your creative business to class (about 5-10 minutes), creativity guidebook is 1 page journals of a business opportunity or your free time and book exercises. Lastly, the business concept/innovation project is a final essay with a minimum of 3 pages. She grades fairly reasonable and doesn't take attendance. If you do all the work, you should get an A in the class but some people forget to do some or all of the creativity guidebook exercises in which they get less than an A. She is very friendly and will help guide you through the process. I will definitely recommend her because she really inspired me (and other students) to become creative when in the beginning of the course I felt that I couldn't be creative. Also, there is no final and the last class you meet is at BJ's Restaurant in West Covina to eat and turn in your essay! She is like no other professor you will take at Cal Poly. How cool is that? Excellent class to go to because it was a hybrid and you only meet 8 times during the quarter. You only have to do 3 things in the class which is a group project with an essay, an in-depth essay on your company, and an interview of an entrepreneur. Since this is an intro to entrepreneurship she doesn't grade hard but she does want some effort into your ideas. She is very helpful and friendly with her lectures being very entertaining. The group presentation has to be about 10-15 minutes but if your explaning a company that you made up then your going to have a lot to talk about. She wants you to have fun and be creative in the class. The essay is about 5 pages but she guides you on what to put in it such as a SWOT analysis. Lastly the entrepeneurship essay is pretty much an autobiography of a person. As long as you can find an entrepeneur and write about 5 pages then you will do very well in the class. Grade Received: A

I was one of the few non-MHR majors in the class, and my God! It was SO EASY! I was expecting a lot more work, but there are really only three assignments. Journal- only buy the book called the Artist's Way. thats the only one you need. the book is divided into Weeks, and you have to do 2-3 exercises per week. I did them all at the begining of the quarter and was done with it. they seem really juvenile and stupid, but thats part of it. Group Project- get together with some people and make a powerpoint about something you think is creative (groups in my class did the iPhone, Google, green companies, etc.) Paper- you have to come up with a business idea, describe it, who the target market is etc. it's about 5 papers and i drew pictures of my product. the professor is really nice and you only meet 10 times the whole quarter, then you go to BJ's to turn in your paper. Overall, super easy class! Grade Received: A

Dr. Brazeal is the best professor ever. She is totally laid back and very easy to talk to! This class is a hybrid class and only meets about 4 times a quarter. All you need to do is put together a "journal" type of thing and give a group presentation. Peice of cake! If you dont get an A in this class then you are extremely dumb - take Dr. Brazeal she is really the best professor because her class is enjoyable and she is totally down to earth - you wont regret it!! MHR 321 with Dr. Brazeal is a hybrid course, meaning we only had to meet 6 times throughout the entire quarter. The course assignments are posted on the WebCT.
}Three major assignments due for MHR 321. Creative group presentation (group of 3 to 6 students), innovation papers, and your journals.
}I believe Dr. Brazeal is the only professor teaching MHR 321. Easy class. No one has ever failed this course.

I would definitely recommend this fun class. Dr. Brazeal is indeed a great person with beauty and brains. She really cares about her students and remembers everyone's names. There were like 50 people in my class. I learned alot about management, psychology, and sociology in the class. There isn't really any homework as long as you write good notes in class. I wish learning was this fun in my other classes!

This class is easy. It's one of those relaxing classes. Her tests are ok, not too hard not too easy. They are multiple-choice tests. You will have 3 midterms. Final exam is optional. If you do well in the midterms, then you don't have to take the Final. There is a 3-4 page group paper on a study case. This is mainly a lecture class. She doesn't demand a lot from students. She is fun and friendly.
