Pros: - Easy to get an A
- Fun class
- All you have to do is show up to pass
Cons: - He is one of the most cocky people you can ever meet
- Huge ego. We could get out of class early, but he spends WAY TOO MUCH time talking about himself when nobody cares.
- He takes roll
This class is an easy "A" as long as you show up and try! The test are just performing a routine you learned in class with a group of 6 people. The only thing I didn't like was his attitude. He is extremely cocky and rude. This class is 2 hours long, but he usually spends 30 minutes of that time talking about himself to try to make himself feel better. A lot of times people got annoyed with it because they actually had other classes to attend/study for.

Pros: Its a fun active class
Cons: He teaches way too fast
If youve never danced in your life this class is going to be a little challenging for you because he teaches coreo very fast but youll eventually get the hang of it. It's a fun environment and you never feel like youre making a fool out of yourself when you go up there and perform in front of everyone. I really enjoyed the class.

Pros: Help you improve your dancing ability.
Cons: N/A
Beginners or not, all you need to do in order to pass BJ class with an A is participation and attendance. Show up to every class with positive attitude and it will be a smooth quarter. Granted, his choreography tends to be fast, but it helps you to pick up the choreo faster as you kept learning. Recommend taking this class.

Pros: high energy & talented choreographer
Cons: personality/humor can be abrasive at times
he accepts all on the waitlist.
come to class. learn the dances. go full out even when you feel silly (you'll look worse when you don't and he'll call you out on it, too). don't take yourself too seriously and have fun. enjoyable class. You don't need to be a dancer to enjoy it.

Pros: He is fun and sarcastic sometimes. He is pretty laid back and very talented. He will be patient to teach how you dance right once you try and show up in class.
Cons: He can be way too sarcastic and might pick on you...
Love the guy. I learned how to dance hip hop much better after taking him. It also built up my confidence to perform in front of the class as well :)

easy A
Cons: he can be annoying at times
I really liked this class! I'm not really into hiphop but I decided to try the class because my friends said it was awesome. It was enjoyable and a Easy EASY A. BJ can be overtop and annoying at times...but everyone has pet peeves and he knocked on a lot of mine. But if your looking for a fun dance class take him!

Pros: no homework!
Cons: tough love
He's actually pretty damn funny, kind of douchey but cool overall, he really knows how to dance and he is pretty damn hot so thats always a plus, his little assistant is hot too haha. Besides that he goes really fast so if you're a bad dancer which i am it'll probably take you a while and each test will be nerve wrecking AT THE TIME. Now that i'm done with the class im really glad i took it, he plays great music and doing something different is always fun. I recommend this class.

Pros: No homework. No research paper. You listen to Michael Jackson a lot! Thank you BJ, you're the best!!!
Cons: Make sure you copy the routine from the best in the class when you are tested. Otherwise you might be in the group that doesn't know it...not to bad though. :) He's still very encouraging.
Fun way to enjoy MJ and dance away y our stress from your other classes.

BJ is the BEST dance teacher I've EVER had in my life. He loves the colors green and blue and is the biggest michael jackson fan you will ever meet in your life! If you don't like him then you are CRAZY and hate your mother. And don't listen to whoever wrote that BS about his girlfriend because she is actually a very nice girl. She is a dancer as well and will give you advice if you ask her for it. Overall, excellent class and superb teacher. Grade Received: A

awesome dude. perty funny. always talking about mickey mouse, seems to be obsessed with mickey mouse and his friends. dances are kinda hard to catch on if this is your first dance class. and if you want to learn b-boy, prepared to be disappointed since half the class is gonna have bad knees and he'll end up teaching something else. take him if you have the time slot open. I'm going to tell you two sides of the story here. You either like him or you don't. On one side, he's sarcastic, funny, confident, and easy-going. You can have fun and learn a lot from him. On the other hand, he's cocky, offensive, annoying, and anal. It can be one of the worst experience you'll have. To some, he's a cool guy and has tough love to encourage to do better. To others, he's an a-hole and you're not going to like his jokes about you. I have to tell you one thing that no one can deny. He's KNOWS dance and breathes it. Anything from cultural to urban, from salsa to hip-hip. It's one of those things that you have to go find out for yourself and see what's he's all about. Grade Received: A

This teacher knows a lot about hip hop and it is an excellent class for a beginner. His attitude however is very annoying. He is cocky and thinks his shit don't stink. He picks on certain people and uses the same jokes over and over again. I would recommend him, just don't get your hopes up that he's a nice guy. Grade Received: A

Super fun class to releave stress... I had a really good time in this class.. Always something to look forward to.. Takes away all of the stress from your other classes... Perform the routine or at least "try" (do jumping jacks for all he cares, screw up, it wont matter, so long as you DO something) and you'll pass... fun class! Grade Received: A

this guy is a professional and experienced. his teaching style is very effective, he doesn't do a lot of talking, basically you mimic his moves. HOWEVER he goes very fast for beginners to try and keep up with so make sure to keep your focus which is very difficult on days when your tired. He says you don't need to work on the dance moves outside of class, but I would practice at home and it helped alot. He teaches a new routine for two days and the third day he tests. the final was fun and easy- coming up with a resume and a headshot like you are auditioning, but he doesn't go over the dance for the final very long at all and then your expected to perform it.

Wow, some people are just too sensitive. BJ is an awesome teacher and person. Yea he is sarcastic and he keeps it real. If you can't dance he will tell you. It's called tough love folks, and honestly if he graded on dance ability than most of the people who enrolled in his class would fail. He grades not on how you dance but the effort you put into it. If you have the courage to take the test infront of the class and you show up to class, you get an A. I took him for social dance and hip hop winter and spring, and I enjoyed going to class. We are not in kindergarten anymore, therfore if you expect a teacher to kiss up to you even if you suck than you are not ready for the real world.

This teacher is a great dancer and a great guy. He is very funny too. I love this class. What I like about this class is that I wasn't a very good dancer at first because I am very shy. By the end of the class I went from sucking to a very good dancer. This class is based on participation and attendance. If you show up to class and try then you will have no problem passing this class. His tests are every third class meeting. His final is lots of fun. His final is you make your own dance team with the people in the class and perform it. He picks the best ones and puts there names on a paper outside of the door. Making your own dance team was so much fun because you get to make up your dance, make a name up, make a logo for your team, and take a group picture, and finally dress up in matching outfits. This class is very fun and I guarantee that any person will learn to dance. Grade Received: A

B.J. makes class really fun. If you're sense of humor is anything like his, class will be a blast. First thing, the class is scheduled as an hour and 50 minute class, but we rarely went longer than 70mins. The thing I really want to mention is that if you're having reservations about taking a hip hop class (because that's really what this is) because you aren't that good of a dancer, don't sweat it. Grade is almost completely effort and participation. You will have to mock up a fake resume for the final, but everything else is inclass. Besides, I saw a lot of people who were struggling at the beginning, but by the end they were doing much much better. So if you have a gap in your schedule to fill, this is a good class to take! Class is not that hard. He takes attendance every time, but you can have people sign in for you. Class is typically easy, you just need to be there on "test" days where he has you dance in groups of 4 (groups according to attendance, every 4 is a group) and checks if you know the choreo. At the end, the final is a group project that involves a dance resume (title page, headshot of group, music and 4-8 or 8-8 count dance choreo). He chooses 2 or 3 groups that perform best to perform for a dance festival thing (which is actually 1 unit extra). If youre chosen as one of the groups, you get an automatic A in the final.. basically a guarantd A in the class. Grade Received: A

This class is super fun and he does a really good job with cheoreography. he goes over the moves about a billion times sooo its not very hard to get a good grade. try to go to all the classes becuase if not you will get lost!!!! and if u need to miss class be sure u have friends that can teach u the dances. the songs are fast so its hard to pick up the steps the week after he teaches it. the only thing is that he is not very nice.. he talks to the people and jokes with people that he knows from past classes but the other students he is a complete hard a$$ to. but its ok id take this class again because he rarely talks.
}The final. he brings his brother in and his brother whos not as good at teaching, teaches the dance bj taught him, messing up on purpose and after like 20 min u are put in groups and u perform in front of a panel of judges with ur group. u need a resume for the final which he tells u to do before it and the final dance is the hardest part of the class. its super fun tho... id recommend it.
}missed 1 test showed up all classes but 1 or 2 and kidna messed up on the final and still got an A- Grade Received: A-

First of all, this is the first HIP-HOP dance class offered here at the University. It has been going on for a while now, but I have NEVER seen so many students pack in one dance room...and you all know our dance department kinda (suck)! I guess this HIP-HOP class is the life saver of the whole mother load. Extremely EASY A class, just show up to class, and if you LOVE to dance...this is a fantasy land for you. If you are not a dancer, you're in luck because I've seen people improved just by coming here--so there's hope! B.J. is an awesome dancer and a HUGE Michael Jackson fan~!!! His jokes are funny and tends to make fun of people that don't really participate in class. He hardly take attendence and class ends about 30 mins early. Bring water and a towel because you'll be sweating --but overall it's FUN! B.J. is cool the fact that if you're not registered in his class, he'll let you stay and dance ...that's why his class so so damn crowded! He keeps a dance routine for 2 weeks, test usually on Thurs. in group of four in front of the whole class. I guess the challenging part here is to overcome your fear of being in front of crowds. Everyone in class is very friendly...so no sweat! Actually it's a great opportunity to show off your style/personality through B.J.'s choreograph moves. If you have not heard of this great HIP-HOP class, so now you know ----then TAKE it! Absolute FUN FUN FUN~!!!!
