Bowen is a young, petite, but cute professor! She is easy on the eyes and ears and it's great for 8am classes because it'll prevent you from going to sleep. She is quite strict on her rules but she is really sweet. She is my second favorite teacher next to Pohopien (MHR 318) just because of the cute personality. She was sweet even when I had to leave for jury duty. |

If you like being treated like a two year old then this is a class for you. I swear, I felt like I was in kindergarden all over again. You get to sit in a circle and do a few outside activities once in a while, then write how you feel after doing it. It would have been better with naptime and a juicebox... |

Bowen is a very nice teacher, she gives you points if you show up to class. One research paper which is not too hard to do. I got an A on it. Just follow her directions to do things, you will get an A. I highly recommend her! Very friendly too. Use her office hour wisely, it will help your grades so much! |

She is so nice, approachable and helpful. The class is pretty easy. You pick a topic and write a Part I, Part II, and Part III (all seperately and graded seperately, between 1-3 pages) and then in the end combine the for a finalized one (another seperate grade). Only two readings, both have textual analysis, and has the essay. Even people who struggle in English can do well. Just follow the sepecific directions she gives you each time. Final is a short presentaion on your topic you have been researching. If you are really smart in English and have good writing skills this class with be cake, like it was for me. Class was always fun and never boring (to me at least, and I get bored really easily). Highly recommended. Take her if you can! |

I agree with the above statements that she is nice in class. However, she grades very strictly and sometimes grades your papers based on very specific things she does not mention ahead of time. Also, DO NOT take a stance in your reseach project that she strongly disagrees with, because she will find a way to give you a bad grade. I tried this, and ended up switching to a new topic. Amazingly, after switching the grade on my project went from a D to a B. A little biased, just maybe??? |

she is very nice and very chill. she is very demanding though. her final paper is some what easy if you choose the right topic...the class environment is cool too. gives a lot of points per assingment but if you don't get it, good luck getting a satisfactory grade. i'm sure it's easy to get an A or B in her class if you like to write and major in english. |

Ms. Bowen is an excellent teacher. She is very nice and approachable but her course is very challenging and she grades very critically. There is a research paper due at the end of the quarter which is worth 40% of your entire grade. The paper is split into three parts which are due at separate times throughout the quarter. This is suppose to make it easier on the students when the time comes to turn in the final paper but for some, it is actually more of a hassle because you're constantly worried about the next deadline to turn in a part of the paper. She also grades these individual parts so these separate parts have to be almost perfect. Ms. Bowen is a difficult teacher but if you're willing to put in the work, you'll probably get a lot out of her class. And if you ever need help with any part of the assignment, she is usually pretty consistent with her office hours and she'll be glad to help you. |

She is a really sweet lady. She kinda favors students who laugh at her jokes and volunteer. She likes to do a lot of group projects(which are really easy). There are three in class essays....and I'm still in the class so I'm not sure what the final is. She does grade hard on grammer, but you really do learn from her. Overall the class is pretty easy. |

Great teacher. I have learned so much from Mrs. Bowen. She is very easy to talk to and grades fairly. I feel she is the best english teacher i have had so far. I got an A in her class and so did my two other friends. Have fun in class discussions because it makes your essays a whole lot better. Take her and have fun. |
