great professor, she may be kinda bad at time because she wants you to find the answer yourself. She will only hint you to a point. She points you in the right direction but will not actually tell you the answer. Her test are pretty easy, just based on her lecture. No text book for this class cuz "technology changes so frequently, it's hard to keep up with just a textbook". |

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. She was one of the best math professors ive EVER had. She makes the topics easier to understand, she is VERY approachable, and doesnt bombard you with piles and piles of assignments. You make about 1 presentation the entire quarter and its simple. Her powerpoints are not boring and they are ALL available online. Midterm & Final are not that difficult if you keep up with her and review your notes and quizzes. I HATE math, but i LOVED this class. She is an awesome professor and SUPER friendly. Grade Received: B+ |

I LOVED THIS TEAHER!! GOING INTO STATS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE HARD BUT SHE DOES SEVERAL GROUP ACTIVITIES AND EXPLAINS EVERYTHING WELL. SHE ALSO GIVES MANY EXAMPLES AND WILL HELP YOU WITH ANYTHING THAT YOU NEED EVEN IF IT DURING HER LUNCH TIME. Grade Received: B |

I loved this professor! She knows how to teach the material in a way that EVERYONE can understand. She is willing to help you outside of class and over e-mail. She is passionate about the subject and makes sure that even if the subject is not of interest to you that you at least have a fun time in class. Take this professor if you can, she is one of the best teachers at Cal Poly. Grade Received: A- |

Prof. Riggs is an AWESOME teacher! Her class is super easy. It consists of doing homework daily.... but she goes over it in class so you can just copy the answers. There are some pretty easy quizes and a midterm and final. All are easy but make sure you show up for ALL the quizes. I missed two and thats how I ended up with a B+ in her class otherwise I would have had an A. Riggs is super nice and knows her stuff. She makes the class fun and interesting! I would definately recommend her to anyone! TAKE HER! =) Grade Received: B+ |

Most students fail this course. SHE IS THE BEST. She explains everything much easier than most teachers. I had to retake this class once before and she had so much more knowledge of statistics than my last teacher. She is very understanding and fun! If you want to pass STA 120 take RIGGS. DO NOT LEAVE CAL POLY w/o TAKING THIS TEACHER. she is very nice and friendly and caring and is also very good at teaching. she has shows you a lot of shortcuts to certain problems so her lectures are very easy to understand. I'm currently taking this class right now and im loving it. I absolutely hate math because Im not good at it but Im actually doing really well in this class because I understand what she teaches Grade Received: B+ |

GREAT PROFESSOR! i do recommend you take her. she is very friendly and always willing to help. she seems like someone who really loves to teach. she has a quiz almost every week. one exam, one presentation and a final. as long as you keep up with the class and do the work, youll be fine. |

She was so nice it was almost a turn on. Very considerate, patient, smart, and she actually acts like she cares. I already knew calculus though and she only helped to fine tune my skills. She was great with less skilled students though, and her class was a pleasure. If only I could find a girl as nice as her! Seriously. |

This is the best MATH TEACHER ON CAMPUS, not only is she willing to teach one on one she is very approachable, i really hate math and am quite horrible at it, never has a math teacher so genuinely cared about her students, her tests are hard and she grades your hw which counts for your grade, but if you dont mind doing some work to be able learn, which is what college is basically about, she will be the best teacher you have ever had for math. I am takin her again for MAT114 cuz i really liked her that much, i recommend you take her, just dont be a bum. |

Professor Riggs was an amazing professor, all you have to do in her class is try and put some effort and you will do fine. She really cares about how you do and gives you as much time on Finals and Mid-terms as you need to complete, even if it means taking you to her next class. She is a very good teacher and I highly recommend taking her for any math |

I highly recommend Dr. Riggs. She is VERY NICE. She makes math fun by having lot's of class activities. She gives about 4-5 quizzes which are multiple choice. Her midterm was very easy, since she tells you what to study. In her tests, she gives you the easiest problems because she's understanding and knows that we have other classes to worry about. She gives daily homework assignments, but is if you don't complete it, she allows you to turn it in later as long as you show her that you did some problems. If you don't enjoy math, especially geometry, like I do, you will after you take Dr. Riggs. I got an A in her class. |

Dr. Riggs is awesome! She breakes everything down for you. If you don't get it, she'll find a zillion other approaches to show you. She shares her stories with you which makes u feel comfortable with her. She makes jokes that comes out naturally. I think it's her personality and her passion for math and teaching that makes her awesome! Not only that,she's always willing to help you out. If you're looking for your motivation to become a teacher, and wanting to learn how to become a better teacher and have a better understanding of your career path, she's the prof you would want to take. |

PROFESSOR RIGGS IS ONE OF THE BEST MATH TEACHERS I HAVE EVER HAD. SHE IS VERY FAIR IN HER GRADING, AND SHE IS MORE THAN WILLING TO HELP THE STUDENT IN ANYWAY SHE CAN. THERE IS HOMEWORK TO DO, BUT IT IS NOT UNREASONABLE. SHE GIVES QUIZZES, BUT SHE LETS YOU KNOW INADVANCE THAT THEY ARE COMING; SOMETIMES YOU CAN HAVE A PARTNER. HER MIDTERMS AND FINAL COME FROM THE QUESTIONS AT THE END OF THE CHAPTERS, AND IF YOU GO OVER THESE PROBLEMS, YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM TAKING HER TESTS. PROFESSOR RIGGS WILL ALSO ADVISE THE STUDENTS WHAT TO EXPECT. SHE IS VERY GOOD AND I RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE. |

She is a really easygoing, kick back teacher. I would recommend anyone to take her. She grades really easy. There's homework assigned for every class meeting but they are odd numbers so you can use the book to help out. There's a mid-term and a final both short and easy. Trust me, I'm not a math whiz but she actually made me enjoy her class. Lectures are fun because it involves group work and class is usually let out early. Take her if you want math to be fun! |
