AIFS Study Abroad in Stellenbosch, South Africa; Global Service Learning Program - Semester
Spend a semester in the captivating city of Stellenbosch, South Africa with AIFS! You’ll earn up to 15 credits per semester with the Global Service Learning Program at the University of Stellenbosch. Courses are taught in English.
During the Global Service Learning Program, you’ll take a 9-credit Global Service Learning course plus one or two electives, in addition to working on a service learning project with the local community. You will also select courses from a broad range of subjects in the full course catalog at Stellenbosch University.
You’ll live in modern student residence halls at the heart of the University of Stellenbosch’s campus life. Residence halls offer single rooms with access to laundry facilities. You will also receive a meal allowance to subsidize the cost of purchasing meals and groceries.
Stellenbosch University’s ISOS-International Student Organization offers many events to help you experience South African culture. Exciting cultural excursions are also built into your program fee, including day trips to Cape Town and Robben Island, Cape of Good Hope and Boulder’s Beach, Table Mountain and to a local food market and beach. A once in a lifetime 6-day trip along the famous Garden Route is also included in your program fee.
Optional excursions include a 3-day trip to the Cederberg Mountains and a 5-day visit to Addo Elephant Park and Breede River.
