Toni is a great yoga teacher! I tore my hip-labrum a couple years before taking this class and lost a lot of mobility because of it. After taking this class, I've gained a lot more flexibility in my lower body which has help a lot more with my recovery and reduced the impingement causing the tear in the first place. I really liked how my class was the in the morning so I was forced to start my day earlier, and how Toni pushed us harder every class to get results. She's really good an explanation all the different poses and tries to make you self-sufficient so that you can do yoga beyond Berkeley! 10/10 prof

I took Prof. Mar’s Vinyasa Yoga class and it definitely started my day with mindful movement of my body. I also struggled with sciatic back pain, but the yoga practices I’ve learned in this class helped me manage the pain and improve my body’s condition overall. I learned many practical things for the everyday and about my body. Prof. Mar is a great yoga instructor, would definitely recommend!

Toni was extremely helpful in guiding our class through yoga this semester. From challenging us when necessary to giving us space to play around with poses, I could really feel her support throughout developing my own yoga practice. I would highly recommend anyone to take a PE class with her -- it was such a good break from academics because Toni is so fabulous!

I have had the pleasure of attending yoga classes with Prof. Mar! Prof. Mar is not just a yoga instructor; she is a guide who genuinely cares about the well-being and growth of each of her students. One of Prof. Mar's standout qualities is her ability to impart valuable advice during classes. Whether it's tips on aligning your body correctly, breathing techniques, her guidance is always insightful. This advice has not only improved my yoga practice but has also helped me incorporate mindfulness into my daily life. Prof. Mar's classes are well-structured and balanced, providing a good mix of physical exercise and mental relaxation. It's a space where you feel encouraged to push your boundaries, so join her class!

Professor Mar is such a compassionate, warm, caring, and considerate professor. I would not be able to find time to really be active throughout the week without her class, and I am very grateful to be part of her class. It couldn't be more revitalizing and energizing be active with her during the class and her beautiful voice strengthened me in the morning!

I took vinyasa yoga with Toni this semester. The course was well-structured and the environment was welcoming for beginners. One of the highlights of Toni's teaching is her ability to integrate her kinesiology background into the practice. She offers insightful cues that help students align their bodies correctly, preventing injuries and enhancing the effectiveness of each pose. The make-up classes are in-person and must be completed within a week, so it's important to be able to attend each class. Toni is very receptive and responsive to student comments. Overall, I highly recommend her course to anyone looking to deepen their practice and explore the connection between yoga and mindfulness.

3rd semester taking Toni's Vinyasa yoga and they are AMAZING! Toni is such an inspiring and supportive teacher. The in-person classes were nice since demonstrations were easier and we had access to the PE supplies, which Toni incorporated into the classes very well to help us better understand how to move our bodies. Classes are definitely challenging, but it makes me better feel my improvement as the semester progresses. Attendance is mandatory though, so the online course was also very convenient and valuable when a class is missed since you can make up the same content through the recording.

I took Professor Toni's core conditioning class and I truly enjoyed the challenge her workouts provided! It is a rigorous training program that is doable at all levels because the training is progressive week by week as we build on endurance and stamina. I loved that this class showed me I could get a fulfilling workout in 50 mins with minimal weight lifting (I was coming from a weight lifting class prior to this class), rest periods and constant movement for endurance. If you want to build on your core conditioning knowledge and be physically pushed to your limit then you will enjoy this class and the benefits you will receive from conditioning your core and overall physique. Skip class and you certainly will not pass! Ms. Toni has a strict attendance policy. While she generously allows makeups within 1 week from a missed class, too many absences will severely impact your grade as it is not easy to make up class on top of an already busy schedule.

This is the second class I have taken with Toni, and I also signed up for one next semester! She is a great instructor -- very accommodating and caring. Her emphasis on the fundamentals and confidence in yourself allows you to feel comfortable attempting poses that you never thought you would be capable of!

I gained a lot from Toni's class on mindfulness and stress management in terms of reducing stress in my life, coping with stress when it arises, and prioritizing my well-being. The last part is important - as graduate students, it's easy to lose oneself in projects and teaching work. Reminding myself that I *deserve* attention from myself somehow needed to be learned, but I am glad I did. My semester was super busy and I fell behind in the class, but Toni helped me carve out a plan that allowed me to complete the course - deeply grateful for that. Also, the course is well structured and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to improve their quality of life through increased mindfulness. PS: ignore my "easiness" rating. I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.

Toni is one of the best teachers, academic or non academic, I have ever had. She is exceedingly knowledgeable and will help guide you through a journey of understanding your body and it's limits. While her classes are not the easiest, she starts the semester easier and builds based on where the class is. I have now taken three of her classes. I have gotten stronger and more flexible, improved my mobility and found a new hobby! Toni's classes significantly improve my overall quality of life. Thank you Toni!!

Toni is very encouraging and understanding. If you have physical limitations or aren’t completely comfortable with your body, the asynchronous class is a great way to bring yoga into your life without it being super intimidating. I feel like I have the fundamentals down well enough that I can always keep them with me. I feel healthier and stronger and I’ve lost weight. I highly recommend taking vinyasa with Toni.
