Toni is an awesome trainer and knowledgeable professor. Her classes are challenging but very doable when you put in effort, and it's so fulfilling to see almost instant results in how you feel and what you can accomplish physically within just a few weeks. She motivates and inspires you to always keep reaching for your goals and try to be the best version of yourself possible. I would definitely recommend taking any of her classes.

Professor Mar is my favorite PE teacher at cal! All her exercises help you feel stronger by the end of the semester, and she is so helpful. She's accessible outside of class, helps you with proper form, and overall is an amazing strength training class. You will be worked very hard in her class but it is totally worth it!

Toni is an amazing teacher. She pushes her students to perform their best, while also allowing them to create a yoga practice that works for their individual needs. She stresses the historical knowledge of yoga, as well as the finer points of technique and practice. This is not just any yoga class, this is Toni's yoga class. Students come in possibly knowing little to nothing about yoga, and come out with not only the skills to practice, but a deeper knowledge and understanding of what yoga is, and how it can change your life. I have taken her courses for six semesters in a row, and will continue to take them until I graduate.

I've taken Toni's morning yoga class every semester for the last two years, and it has transformed my approach to both yoga and life. The class has challenged me physically and mentally, but in consequence I have seen improvements in the way I act on and off the mat. I have learned so much more about yoga and its foundational philosophy while developing confidence through the asanas. Toni's no-nonsense instruction and emphasis on fundamentals provided stability during unstable times. She provides motivation and clear guidance while encouraging students to challenge themselves. Highly recommend!

Beginners General Conditioning - Pretty good class to add to your schedule if you want to have someone motivate you to work out a few times a week. She clearly knows her stuff and is a great instructor. Very energetic and explains lifting poses well. Also learned useful and applicable nutritional info. Great class:)

Love Toni s class. Great way to start doing yoga. There’s more than learning how to do yoga in this class, also about how to take care of yourself. Toni s responsible, caring and knowledgeable. It’s legit the best class you can find at Berkeley.

Toni is an amazing instructor who helps motivate and push you to perform at your best! She creates fun, challenging, and sometimes pretty crazy exercises to keep you engaged and excited-- and keep your muscles confused. The classes are very enjoyable, even after 4 semesters!

Toni Mar is incredibly attentive, direct, and she knows yoga. She’s a true professional and is going to teach yoga the way it’s meant to be. Her teaching is authentic and not watered down interpretations of yoga. She’s encouraging and challenging. She knows how to train you to be safe and secure in each pose and how to avoid injury. Toni is a UC Berkeley gem. She pushes you hard, but only because she cares about you. She is extremely knowledgeable, encouraging, and motivating. Her core and yoga classes were always the highlight of my week. I highly recommend her to any student! I only wish I had discovered her classes sooner.

Professor Toni has so far been my favorite physical education instructor at Cal. The attendance is mandatory but she will always be understanding when you need an exception. As an ROTC student, taking her class helped my physical fitness scores dramatically increase within the first 4 weeks. Definitely recommend if you want to get stronger! The motivation was much needed

Toni is a wonderful instructor, she is very caring and encouraging and gives very detailed and helpful feedback to students so that they can improve. I really enjoyed taking her beginner yoga class this semester and I learned a lot and I encourage everyone to take it.

Toni is excellent! She has so much knowledge in her field which she makes accessible to her students. She makes the course not just about physical aspects but understanding mental wellbeing and strength too. Being able to take her classes in person was amazing, and an opportunity that everyone should take. It was such a shame that the semester was finished online, although during this Toni provided accessible home workout routines and support. Great way to get in touch with and understand your body to support independent fitness training later in life. Although I wish I was still at Cal and able to take Toni's classes, made it so easy! Thank you Toni!!

Toni Mar is a great teacher who really pushes you to try your best and be more consistent. Her classes are not easy by any means, but they do push you to become a lot better! I would definitely recommend for you to try out Toni's classes for a semester. I only wish that I could have taken more semesters of class with her.

Amazing instructor who really inspired me to exercise and give it my all. She inspired a kind of "Berkeley" excellence and winner mindset that has helped me push through some of the most stressful times during my undergraduate career. Toni is merciless in pushing her students but that is the kind of motivation I needed to push beyond my comfort zone.

Toni is an incredible instructor who truly loves what she does, which really translate in her teaching. She challenges her students and helps them learn to push past their physical and mental limits. Her lessons, like learning to be comfortable with the uncomfortable, are just as applicable outside the classroom as well. I would highly recommend taking one of her classes!

Toni really cares about her students. Even in larger classes, you still feel like you are getting a really great physical education (learning how to push yourself, correct posture in each pose, breathing). I always walked out of her classes tired and sweaty but ready to take on the day. I appreciate her clear instruction and expectations she has for us as well as her sense of humor!
