Tara’s class is one of the best graduate level courses I’ve ever taken. She’s extremely receptive, kind and smart, and she takes the time to thoroughly explain everything in different ways so that it makes sense. I left her class feeling well-equipped to be a nurse practitioner. Her class was one of the first that I took at Penn and is so far my favorite. | |
This professor is the kind of person who seems to enjoy making the content as hard as possible and as irrelevant as possible. She taught half the course and we taught ourselves the other half (aren't I paying tuition for a reason?). We had tests constantly and even though they were open book/ open note, you still couldn't find the answers to her questions. After I finished the course I showed doctors in certain specialties the questions and answers and they thought she was being outrageous for asking someone only a physician in that specialty would know, especially because it wasn't in the book and she didn't cover it in class. It was not a useful course for a future nurse practitioner at all. She spoke so fast during her once a week five-hour lectures that I couldn't keep up taking notes, which is a bit absurd. You only have one option if you need to take her course and you can't take it outside of UPenn unless you took a grad A&P class prior to entering the program. I strongly suggest you do anything to avoid this course. |
