Dr. L. seems like a good guy, but for a class I needed, I didn't learn one thing! If you want a super easy class, where you don't need to go often, this class is for you. You need to show up one class to get your reading assignment and then another to do it. Quizzes and SWS are all online. I probably went to 10 classes.
Scott is SUPER nice and is always willing to help! The quizzes were a little tough but he is super lenient on grading the 10-page paper at the end which is super helpful! Great professor.
There are assigned readings but you are never tested on them. As an SWS course, there is a large paper due at the end of the semester. He breaks it down into parts which you turn in for feedback and a grade. Make a few adjustments and you simply combine all the parts to make your whole paper. He is not a tough grader when it comes to the final paper.
I have heard this material on American history more times than I can count but he still brought something new to it. Two group projects that are very hard to do bad on, a couple of short essays, and because this is an SWS a 10 page paper due at the end of the semester that he gives you class time to work on. He is a good prof who really cares.
Didn't Mind the class but I like history. Get ready to watch a lot of Ken Burns Documentary. Don't skip class and you pass with an A that simple. You skip you get a B. That simple.
Very unclear on assignments gives a bunch and you have to complete some and some are optional but have to complete some optional ones? Very easy class and lectures are boring. Attendance is a MUST in his class. You'll probably get A or A- if you don't skip. Doesn't care about due dates as long as it gets done. Also easy grader on the 3 papers.
Super unorganized but he will give you an A if you show up. Do not skip the class or leave early because he waits for people to leave early and if enough people leave he will give an easy in the class paper on what you think once a year. But if you leave, you lose a ton of points, and he will take away your attendance points. Great Guy.
Attendance is mandatory, but this guy is an awesome professor. Doesn't work you hard, even in his sws classes. I've had Dr. L. for several sections and plan on taking another one of his classes next semester. I've gotten an A every time. Show up to class and do the very few papers assigned and you'll get an A.
He switched up his teaching style a lot since last year. Well at least for HST101 he did. There's no tests, quizzes or exams. Only a few very minor writing assignments and they aren't based on class lessons or the book. I skip this class at least once a week and I have a straight A. Just include his recommendations in your paper!
I had this class 9-9:50 MWF, and I only missed class at least once a week and still finished with an A. There is only a midterm that he lets you use your notes on and an easy online final. There are 9 projects in the class and you get to choose which 3 that you want to do. Overall if you are looking for an easy A. I would definitely recommend this professor.
Classes are boring but he really cares for his students. There are 3 projects that you get to pick and there are 2 actual exams. The midterm was an essay exam and the final was online. I'm not the best at history but he made it a little less stressful.
Mr. L. is a great professor. As a 6-9 class, it can be boring at times because it is lecture heavy, but he almost always lets you out early. He is straight forward with his assignments and with his lectures. He is a laidback and kind person. If you do the assignments and go over the powerpoints you will do well in this class.
Mr. L. is a great guy! Yes, at times lectures are long especially as a 6-9, but he always lets the class out at least an hour early each week! Everything in the class is straightforward and if you have any concerns whatsoever he is super helpful during his office hours! Definitely recommend the class for an easy A!
Do not take Dr. L's class. He is boring and the material makes no sense. He doesn't present power points in a good manner and you have to watch videos that waste your time. I learned absolutely nothing and was bored out of my mind all semester. He does not give opportunities to participate, yet your grade is dependent on it. Take someone else.
He is very nice and truly cares about the class, however, it was very easy to zone out because the material is not always the most interesting, and his voice is usually quiet. His grading was rather easy and he always gave good feedback. There were two textbooks, but I never really had to use them.
He is a really nice guy who wants his students to succeed. Sometimes lectures are long, but he is very straightforward. He is well organized and allows you to pick what assignments you want to do throughout the year, which makes the class more enjoyable and less stressful.
Nice guy, hard to listen to lecture because he is very monotone when he speaks. I would recommend taking one of his shorter classes. Let you choose from several assignments throughout the semester to complete, making class more fun because you choose what you learn. Mixed videos and lecture. Gives good specific feedback after grading assignments.
A few boring lectures because of the drone of his voice. Tried to engage people in the discussion which is helpful. Mixed in videos with lectures. Wouldn't say he was an incredibly easy grader as I was rather disappointed with only getting 91/100 on my portion of the group presentation, but was fair grading course mandated papers.
The online section I took was all writing based on readings from his book, so get ready to read and make sure you're actually reading the book to understand since the papers ask you to reflect on your readings. As long as you put in the effort and write complete essays, this class will be easy enough and he is quite straightforward. No tricks, just do it.
Good professor, but the class is heavily weighted on 4 writing assignments and 2 essays, along with participation points, and he can take up to 3 weeks to grade things! You will need to purchase 4 books and read all of them (although I only read bits of the textbook to prepare for tests, not as assigned). Be prepared to almost fall asleep in class! |
