He was very hard on grading, however, I really found his work to be interesting and he was very passionate about it.

I really liked how open he was with his students. Even though he was late sometimes, it never effected his work.

I see a lot of people complaining about this teacher, however, I never saw a bad thing about him while he was teaching. Seems to me that a lot of these former students just were not doing the work.

I took his class back in the day, and to be far he was full of himself. However, that did not stray from the fact that he is a very wise and interesting man. As far as I can see, most of these former students who are commenting, have nothing to do but complain about their grades. It is possible to achieve good grades, especially in his classes. The thing a lot of students MUST learn, is to learn their professor's wants and needs; which, if students are unable to do, it is no wonder they achieved poor grades. Rating him a 1 star, or even a 2 star, for simply being a person who might be full of himself, has nothing to do with his work or what he is presenting to the table. Work harder next time, and maybe most of the students would not be complaining.

People need to do the work! Work work work. You can’t expect the teacher to give you answers. Do it yourself and if you don’t understand it, LEARN IT!

Maybe if most of the students did their work properly and were not half witted when entering this course, then maybe, possibly, they would get a better grade.

This class was only okay. I would not recommend Dr. Olsen if you are looking to take a class where you learn a lot though. Dr. Olsen is by no means a good teacher. He has a serious superiority complex about philosophy and spends most of his time trying to make himself look smart instead of teaching.
