 Halladjian is the perfect embodiment of the idea that just because someone is a native speaker of (…INSERT ANY LANGUAGE HERE) doesn’t mean they are qualified to teach that language. He had trouble explaining simple grammatical concepts; his grasp of basic linguistic terminology was shaky at best. I thought I’d leave the class with some basic conversational skills in Armenian, but there was absolutely zero class interaction between students to facilitate acquiring any real-life language skills. His idea of teaching was to have us read the chapters aloud in class. Nice guy and well-intentioned, but definitely over his head as a language teacher. Oh, and EASY A.
