 I studied under Bankes in the 80s at CNC and he commented that I "Got all the scholarships," like I didn't deserve them based on my 3.9 GPA. I was discouraged from investigating climate effects on plant growth. I was ostracized at CNC. horticulture is primarily done by women and claimed by men when there may be money made. I was not supported in my horticultural studies in the 80s. Has that misogyny been eradicated? I WISH.
