Great teacher, very interesting lectures! For the class just make sure you watch the movies on time and COME TO CLASS. You will have a short quiz each day for attendance on the movie for the week. The only homework for the class is a weekly movie to watch and just a couple of short essays throughout the semester. Not a very hard class.

Dr. Strong is a great prof. She's very knowledgeable and she is less of an old-fashioned history teacher. There is a focus on speeches (Athenian Democracy) and groupwork. One 8-10 page research paper, although it's a writing intensive class. That's to be expected. Very fair in grading. The final was easy and unique. Will have again for Ancient Rome.

Anise Strong is one of the worst professors I've had. She is unorganized and inconsistent in her grading. Everything taught in class is in no way related to the tests and papers. I guess she went to Yale but teaches as if she went to a community college. She uses class time to discuss controversial topics for her pleasure rather than educate us

This professor is extremely unorganized and a tough grader. I'd rather watch paint dry than sit through her lectures. Just take different gen ed. Trust me.

Extremely left-sided, terrible with getting grades in on time, too passionate. Nice lady though.

She really knows what she's talking about and tries her best to liven up ancient history. I took Ancient Rome with her, and I learned a lot from her class. We all did group projects on the provinces in the Empire which helped me understand the subject better. BUY BOOKS. YOU WILL USE THEM A LOT. A must for any History major.

Personally wasn't a fan of her. Her lectures are extremely boring I could not get myself to listen to her. She's pretty tough on grading and super technical. The movies are extremely boring as well. Take this class with another professor if there's another option.

I really liked Prof. Strong! She's very educated and knows her stuff - she has an answer for all of your questions. Super easy quizzes, project at the end, but she grades pretty easily. Most of what you need to know comes from her lectures, so don't skip class. Never opened the book, passed with a BA.

This is not a very easy class. You should attend every class as she does attendance/reading quiz every class period and it is a good portion of your grade. Papers are confusing, make sure to clarify her directions! Exams are part in class and part take-home. Show up for every class and read the book and you should do ok.

The class is hard because she's a bad prof, not because the subject is difficult. The dates on the syllabus are useless. For the final paper/project, she lists the available topics from easy to hard and then passes the signup sheet around the class in order, screwing the people on the other side of the classroom.
