If a student feels that a placement is not accurate, he or she should talk to someone at the college about alternative methods of placement. However, the most important thing may be for the student to recognize that placement in a developmental class may actually benefit him because it will help him gain the skills that will help him him in future classes. Not everybody does good on tests. Maybe the student is test fright (mind goes blank when given test).
